Saman Zerin: The IntruderBox Code

Postby Guest » June 27th, 2006, 10:41 am

Dear My Magician Friends,

My aim is to reform and modernize the magic.
I have created the MILLENNILLUSION PROJECT which contains new and original illusion designs.
The first element of this project is the IntruderBox.
The new website of the IntruderBox 3d animation: www.samanzerin.com/IntruderBox
As a mark of my esteem I would like to give for ALL MAGICIANS the right to produce and perform the IntruderBox without paying ROYALTY for it.
You can sign your demand in this e-mail address: samanzerin@samanzerin.com
After this I will send to you:
the construction drawings of the IntruderBox
the measurements of the IntruderBox in cm
the body position of the IntruderBox
the certificate of the IntruderBox wherewith you can confirm that I contributed to produce and perform the IntruderBox.
WITH THIS ACTION I WOULD LIKE TO HELP THE MAGICIAN SOCIETY.
I AM WAITING YOUR THINKINGS ABOUT THIS INITIATION!

Warmest Regards,
Saman Zerin

I have watched the animation of this illusion with great interest and although it is very involved and puzzle like, I just do not see how it is "Magical". Is it just me?

I guess I just like things to be simple and to the point.

Well I imagine that an assistant gets into the box. Don't you think?

Of course - that's a given.

And even so? Would you think "Wow! That's magical!"

This morning, I got this in email:

"Thank you for your claim to the proffered IntruderBox.

I have to inform you that the administration and registration fee of the IntruderBox is $ 99.00. As long as you would like to receive the rights and the Certificate of the IntruderBox please transfer this amount to the following bank account number....."

That doesn't sound like free to me. Sorry Saman, you just lost all credibility.

Rick:

You beat me to it! But no doubt we will be advised that "royalty" is different than "administration and registration fee."

The real question is: Why is this shown as a computer animation and not an actual working prop with a real girl in it and a real performer doing it?

It probably hasn't been built and exists only in this guy's imagination.

The bait and switch from "free" to "registration" is a classic con.

The animation is nice: the wood-grain on the stage is absolutely fabulous!

As for the effect, I agree with Mr. Manwaring in that it doesn't seem very "magical"--rather, a drawn-out, over-complicated hodge-podge of existing ideas.

But the generous offer to send him $99 for the "free" materials is too good to pass up!!

I don't mind paying for plans and books, those that know me know of my library and building skills.

However, I have to buy the plans after they were offered for free, with no mention of a fee in the first post, or in an email. Well, that's just totally unethical.

And even worse, you cant even use a credit card to protect your investment, you have to do a bank transfer to an account, which isn't even his.

This is starting to sound like a 4-1-9 scam, big time.

Here's the whole email for those of you to decide for yourself.
...

Thank you for your claim to the proffered IntruderBox.

I have to inform you that the administration and registration fee of the IntruderBox is $ 99.00.
As long as you would like to receive the rights and the Certificate of the IntruderBox please transfer this amount to the following bank account number.

PLEASE SEND THIS TO MY PRODUCTION MANAGER MT-WTZEK ORSOLYA TMEA.
Account number: <REMOVED FOR SECURITY> Swift Code: <REMOVED>
To: Mt-Wtzek Orsolya Tmea

My team will send to you the following documents no later than 7 days after the day on which the amount was received:
the construction drawings of the IntruderBox the measurements of the IntruderBox in cm two body positions of the IntruderBox the certificate of the IntruderBox wherewith you can confirm that I contributed to produce and perform the IntruderBox.

I need your full and exact name for the Certificate.
For example: Saman Zerin.

........

That's it friends. Draw your own conclusions.

I just hope there's not a cgi artist out there waiting to get paid for his animation.

I did receive this today in my email. I think this will make it good to your word of your first post. Thank you

The drawings are very nice and workable. Not true blueprints, but each area measured off in centimeters.

I'm sure I will have questions during the building of it as there always will be 'the little things' that make an illusion like this workable.
