Yes, it was Doug Bennett's--a coins across where the last coin goes through the rubber glove.

Thanks, Brad. I first saw this as a kid about 1960, when my next door neighbor, whose father was an amateur magician, showed it to me.

I nervously went into an "Adult Novelties" store once, looking for some dental dam to try and make some acrobatic/flap cards. They had some, but it was expensive and it was peppermint scented.

You can get it in bulk at Amazon.

I ordered the black dam from the same person on ebay and received it.

I can not use it for the trick—the material is not nearly transparent enough. Am I doing something wrong? Been a while since I've done this trick but I remember it being pretty straightforward.

Any help?

Dental dam comes in a variety of thicknesses and too thick is no good. The new material out there these days is no good as well. It must be good old fashioned dental dam. The powder version works just fine. So, here is a summary...

1- the thinner the better
2- the color should be black
3- if it has powder on it, that’s okay
4- avoid the newer materials and stay with the good old fashioned stuff
5- break it in a few times before using to perform the trick so it becomes more flexible and if it has the powder finish, you will wear some of it away

Hope that helps!
