Gibson, Hammond books

Postby Pepka » April 7th, 2002, 4:28 pm

I picked up a two books at an auction a few years ago. Have a feeling they might interest someone.

A copy of The Last Word on Cards. The book that is the first place "Sam the Bellhop" appeared, or as it is known here, Sam and Moe. It appears to be a first edition and is in great shape. On the inside cover, is the following inscription: To A very Wonderful Friend, Walter Gibson With my very best wishes, W.F. "Rufus" Steele. Aug. 12, 1952.

Second is a copy of Bell's Magic Book by Pat Page, owned by Rae Hammond, author of the Edward Victor book. On the inside cover it is written: Rae Hammond Chetlenham June 88.

I'm very interested to hear if there is any value or interest in these books. You'll be shocked when you find what i paid, esp. for the Steele book.

Thanks,
Pepka
