Steve,
[REST ESP VICE / PESTER VICES / I'VE RESPECTS]

It will be sometime before I purchase a copy of "Impuzzibilites" as I've currently got a growing pile of books, manuscripts, and magazines that I haven't even looked at yet. Any more additions to the pile may transform it into an avalanche.

Regards,

John

My copy arrived yesterday. The great thing about these self-working principles is that you, the magician, can enjoy watching them work as much as anyone. You get to be your own first audience, and you get to be amazed. Then you can instantly and effortlessly mystify people. Jim Steinmeyer actually delivers what Vick Lawston only promised.

Thanks so much, John, for the tip. This is the one-and-only place I have so far heard about this.

I just got my copy yesterday and it's really good. Excellent content, well designed and produced, and only $16 postpaid. How can you beat it? It will be reviewed in the August Genii.

I read it a few days back. For me it is the best buy of 2002. Very good. Very interesting. Very useful.

Which one do you think is the strongest effect? My vote goes to the 3 card monte and the trick with dimes and pennys (forgot the title).

It's tough to beat "The Nine Card Problem." It was worth my $16 just to be reminded of how good it is.
The items Chris mentions are great, too.
How often can one purchase a magic book for $16 and be spoiled for choice because there are so many good items?

My favorite is the one where, with the same ten cards, you deal three successive hands of poker. The first deal gives your opponent nothing, and you one pair; the second deal gives your opponent nothing and you two pair; and the third gives your opponent nothing and you a royal flush.

I really like this because, here in New Mexico, we settle tied elections with a game of poker. (I learned this through reading Genii Magazine, not through any civic awareness on my part.) So I've come up with a little routine using this effect that begins "I was running for Senator of the Great State of New Mexico...." ;)
