Five reprints are in the works at the printer right now:
1) Spirit Theater
2) Life Savers
3) The Collected Almanac
4) The Amazing Miracles of Shigeo Takagi
5) Seriously Silly
All will be available by the end of June. I will very shortly be posting a pre-pub special offer on these reprints, so keep your eyes peeled. :)
In the early fall I expect to reprint:
1) New Magic of Japan
2) Five Times Five Japan
And an entirely new book of Japanese close-up magic.

Will there be a preorder price on these? Or better yet, a multi-book discount? I've been sitting on the Japan books for ages...ok for about a year and a half....but it seems like at least 18 months! Hope to see them soon! :)
Mike
PS: Just reread your thread....YEAHHH there will be a prepublication price!

Re: New Kaufman and Company Reprints Coming Soon!
Can't wait for more info on the upcoming book of new Japanese close-up. Any hints for us regarding a potential date and who the contributors might be???
I hope it does well enough to encourage future publications along the same lines, and perhaps lead to additional volumes of the "5 Times 5" series and even a "Sawa's Library of Magic, Volume 2."

Re: New Kaufman and Company Reprints Coming Soon!
Only the first printing of Spirit Theater had a "record" in it (actually it's called an "Eva-Tone Soundsheet). Subsequent printings have not. No materials exist from which to make a high-quality dub for a CD.

The audio is safely archived at Mr. Burger's website for reference.
Re: New Kaufman and Company Reprints Coming Soon!
Good.
So my recently won copy of Spirit Theater (complete with "record" :p ) will retain some value as a hard to find item.

(new to collecting)
PS Yippie! The Takagi Book is coming! The Takagi Book is coming! Woo Hoo!

Wow Mr.Kaufman! Thats some great news! Made my day after a bad college exam :( ..
May I ask a question though, these books, after the reprint, will stay in the market for some time right? Should I get them fast before they go flying? ( e.g John Bannon's Dear Mister Fantasy didn't stay in the market so long .. I missed it .. ).
Again, thanks for reprinting these gems. :D

Re: New Kaufman and Company Reprints Coming Soon!
The new book on Japanese magic, comparable in size to Five Times Five, should be out in the fall, at the same time that I reprint Five Times Five: Japan and New Magic of Japan. I'll offer a special price for all three.

Richard,
Will the new book on Japanese magic be substantially comprised of card material?

I think it's a good mix of material, but probably 50% of it is cards. I haven't received the final draft of the entire translation yet, and we've also added quite a bit more material than was in the original Japanese version. So, still getting it all sorted out.

Thanks for heads up Richard. It certainly sounds like something I'll be interested in.
Medifro,
If you need to purchase John Bannon's Dear Mr. Fantasy, you might want to try getting it directly from him.

Mr. Kaufman,
As you mentioned in your previous post, the new Japan book is on a translation of a Japanese book? I would like to know what the original is if you don't mind revealing the secret now :D .
Best,
Charles

The new book is so greatly expanded from the original Japanese edition that it's not important. :)

Mr. Kaufman,
Would you please tell us who the contributors will be for the new close-up Japan book?

The contributors are the same group, plus a few more, who were responsible for all the tricks in both New Magic of Japan and Five Times Five: Japan.
