Citation for Tony Kardyro Sleight?

Postby Richard Kaufman » January 7th, 2008, 9:57 am

Can anyone tell me the exact name, and perhaps give a printed reference, for the sleight of Tony Kardyro's where you have a face-down spread deck between your hands. Spectator indicates a card. You split the spread and flip the card face up using the right-hand cards. When you flip the card face down onto the left-hand cards, you secretly add the card which was at the left end of the right-hand spread.
What's it called?

If you have CC 4 at hand, see the footnote Nr.14 at the end of the book (and page 814 for the sleight). There's some credit information.
Earliest source: "The Conjurors' Magazine", Vol.5, No.7, Sept.1949.

In The Collected Works of Alex Elmsley, Vol. II, (1994)Stephen Minch writes, page 58 :

A Flip-over switch invented separately by Henry Christ (Ref. Inner Secrets of Card Magic, page 23) and Tony Kardyro (Ref. Conjurors' Magazine (1949)and Kardyro Kard Konjuring (1955), page 8.)

But for me, it looks like a (good) Drop Sleight Variation and Senor Torino calls it also The T.K.'s One Card Drop Supreme.
