I'm not sure what you mean by a "collector" book. If you mean is it a book that book collector's and magic collector's would want on their shelf? Yes, this is a hot one.
It is also a very interesting and very well produced book for the average reader. The quality of the book is wonderful, plus it has a TON of information. I found it very interesting looking at some of his automata creations.
Both volumes barely fit in the slip cover. In fact, my copy actually fits so tight in the slip cover I sometimes worry I might rip/crease the dustjacket when I push it in.
