Deceptive Stairs

Postby Ray Eden » May 7th, 2004, 7:50 am

Hello,

I posted earlier with this topic with no response. Now I've found the proper name and hope that someone has an answer. I'm wondering if the blueprint/plans are available for Deceptive Stairs and if so, where I can get them.

Thanks,

R. Eden

Thanks! Don't know why I couldn't find his web site while I was doing a google search.

The most deceptive stairs I've seen seen were make by Paul and Ken (RIP) at "Creative Illusions" in Las Vegas....if their still in buisness?

Rayeden,

Take a serious look at Rand Woodbury's Illusionworks video Vol. 1 "Steps and Bases". Step by step instruction for a great set of steps (and a nice base). Be sure to pick up Vol. 3 "Tricks of the Trade", as an important informational compliment.

Thanks for the video tip. Are they expensive?

$30-$45 ea. Compared to the time and money of building illusion apparatus, this is a pittance. Again, some great information.

Yup. . .I've ordered a copy of the video along with a set of DECEPTIVE STAIRS plans from Osbourne. I hope the carpenter will have enough information between the two. There aren't really any illusion builders in Finland, so I need to get this guy as much material as I can to be sure that I get what I want.

Thanks again to those who offered help with the Deceptive Stairs. I now have both the plans and the Vol. 1 of the IllusionWorks videos that were mentioned.

Okay. . . I have the blueprints and the video tape. But there seems to bit of information missing from both. What is the best way to do the trap at the bottom of the table to stairs? Should this also be spandex? Any tips would be appreciated. I'm talking to a rather good carpenter, but he has no experience with building illusions.

I didn't realize you were from Finland... but, is it possible for you to phone or email Osborne directly and ask?

Well...actually I'm from the United States, but I've been living in Finland for five years now. Married a Finn. Maybe I'll drop him an email and see if he'll offer some 'online' help.
