Mysteries & Secrets Revealed by Loren Pankratz, PhD
In the great tradition of Martin Gardner’s Fads and Fallacies and Carl Sagan’s The Demon-Haunted World, Loren Pankratz has written an historical exploration of the islands of sanity in the oceans of crazy. He must have a library rivalling the Library of Alexandria and a lot of spare time to immerse himself in pop culture because his list of references and quotations is awe inspiring. Given the worldwide pandemic sci-fi movie we all find ourselves in and the anti-vaxxer, anti-science climate, and the denial of election results, the quote on page 84 from Festinger in 1956 simply shows that crazy and stupid are not new. If you need an entertaining read and want an antidote to your drunken uncle’s last tirade about communists chlorinating the water supply, then this is the book for you.

Bob -- The communists are responsible for flouridated water. Credit chlorinated to the Tri-Lateral Commission.

Bill, of course you are correct, and the Illuminati put LSD in ice cream and brain-burrowing earwigs in those My Pillows.

The book is extremely fun to read. It is not a dry, academic tome. Think Martin Gardner.

At least the alligators in the sewers won't get cavities. And their teeth stay white too. The hormones probably rouse them up a bit though.
