There is definitely a copy in The Magic Circle library. I spent a couple of hours reading it and making notes two or three years ago. I remember the head librarian, Peter, keeping a beady eye on me while I studied it!

Certainly a rare book!

I was there on Monday and there was no sign of it. However Peter wasn't in that day. It wasn't on the computer system, nor could I find it on the shelf.

Quentin - He didn't keep a close enough eye on me! :D

JOKE!!!

Seriously, I think its kept in the locked cupboard with the rare stuff. I had to ask for it - it's not stored on the open shelves.

It would definitely not be on the open shelves.

Christopher, have you already checked the online sources?

As Denis Behr mentioned earlier, he has listed the content of Adams's Erdnase book in his fine Conjuring Archive here: https://archive.denisbehr.de/list/book/ ... ight=82987
I would think that he might have a copy (of a copy) of that book.

Lybrary.com offers a number of Adams sources, among them Conjurors Chronicle, Pentagram, The Best of Pentagram Card Magic, and The Magic Wand (Vol. 21/1930) with a report on the Erdnase book auction.
Have a look here: https://www.lybrary.com/advanced_search ... aham+adams

In addition, the Conjuring Credits website (also by Denis Behr) will tell you that Adams was the first to suggest to practice bottom dealing with the assistance of a metronome:

In The Pentagram, The Card Work of Graham Adams begins vol. 13, no. 6 and ends vol. 14, no. 3.

Hey Zig!,

Some great info there, thank you very much. I spoke to Denis a few months ago and I get the feeling that he is just collecting books so I am sure that even if he does have a copy he would not want to sell. The metronome is a great idea... I am sure many would say a little obsessive but that's what it takes to be the best.

I must get into doing some research on Adams this weekend. I have Adams, Walter Scott, and Erdnase research all going at the same time so I have a lot to keep me busy!

Thank you!
