I saw on Michael Close's most recent newsletter that Sonny Fontana had passed away.
I wasn't hugely familiar with him or his work beyond his appearance at the first Genii Convention (at which he did a very strange act), but I haven't seen it noted anywhere else.

Not sure why I didn't get it posted here. I wrote a short obit for the March Castle newsletter. Sonny was an creative guy. It seems like he spent much of his life trying to perfect the "Invisible Man" act (what you saw at the Genii Convention). He never quite pulled it off, but he never gave up and there's something to say for that. He was best known, especially at The Magic Castle, for his amazing shadow artistry. He could do amazing shadow profile impersonations. It was an act that took him around the world many times.
