First Edition. 1997. 152 pages, spiral bound hardback, printed in Japan. Over 100 pictures in color and black and white. Book is written in Japanese. Perhaps an app translator can be used on the pages to read. At the very least, you can enjoy the many incredible banners. The book is accompanied by two sheets of postcards of banner paintings, and a paper model of a sideshow tent. Excellent condition.

View book of Japanese tent sideshows. Divided into three parts. The first shows photographs of Japanese sideshow banners, mostly painted by Seiho Shimura. Among the Banners in this book, two thirds were painted by Mr. Seiho Shimura. (1905-1971) He was a professional painter of Sideshow Banners. The second part shows antique photographs of sideshow performers and show tents., mostly taken in the 1930s. The third part shows spoken language of sideshow barkers written in Japanese lettering. The book is accompanied by two sheets of postcards of banner paintings, and a paper model of a sideshow tent
