Waitress

Postby El Mystico » January 22nd, 2019, 9:42 am

There's a trick I read about years ago where you are in a restaurant with a friend. You write a prediction and drop it into a wine glass. You call the waitress over and ask her to go into a corner and write a number on a piece of paper and when she comes back she drops it in a second wine glass. You show your companion that you successfully predicted the number. Great trick in the right circumstances.
Can anyone tell me who originated it/where it is published?

Thanks!

Seems like the basic concept (creating an instant stooge) is pretty old, although I don't remember the precise idea of using it in a restaurant setting though.

You might be thinking of the PUNX TEST from Corinda's 13 Steps. Punx's effect is stronger than what you described. In it the waitress writes what the first spectator is thinking and there are no stooges.
