Tonight, I enjoyed the heck out of myself reading the December issue of Genii. My favorite was, of course, the Deland article and bonus special card for the included Eureka Card Trick. With my luck, the card I received had this annoying crease down one long edge. Anyone else get a card like that? RK...HELP!!!

I was fascinated to discover that there was a magic shop at 32 N. 13th Street in Philadelphia. I know that location like the back of my hand! It was the first block on 13th Street north of Market Street. That block of shops was torn down several years ago. I can still remember everything that was there. In fact, I worked at a magic shop located around 3 to 4 blocks away on 13th Street south of Market Street.

I suspect that the Deland article was a taste of what is to come when I finally receive my copy of the book. I can already tell that I won’t be disappointed! I expect to be enthralled from beginning to end.

The book is awesome, greatly exceeding my already high expectations.

Richard, do you have any tracking numbers for the deluxe editions? I’m in California and have not gotten delivery as of yet. Thanks in advance.

Peace, Joe

Richard, thank you so much for the thoughtful packing of the Deland book. My deluxe edition arrived in NC yesterday afternoon during a pounding rain.

Alas, the not-so-thoughtful delivery person put the package between our screen door and front door but didn't ring the darn doorbell, so I almost [censored] a brick when I opened the front door to take the dog out to do her business and found my Christmas present to myself sitting there all ready to absorb water from a slight gap in the screen door.

Happily, the package wasn't there very long and even happier, it had been packed by a master packer who cares for his customers, and there was no problem with water. Hallelujah.

Anyway, the book is absolutely marvelous. I honestly didn't think you could ever do a better job of entertaining as well as educating me as you did with the Berglas book, but I believe you've now done that.

Thanks, Chet. It costs me a lot to do the double boxing, with the corner bumpers and all the foam inside, but no one wants to receive a beat-up book.

Copy 36/100 has arrived in Urlingford, Ireland.

It arrived approx 12 hours ago which was 12.30pm GMT

Probably the first copy to make it across the Atlantic Ocean.

Will start reading it on Christmas morning and expect to finish it sometime around Christmas 2019.

Wishing everyone here and at Genii a very Happy Christmas and a Wonderful and Prosperous New Year.

Mine was delayed apparently from some issues at one or more locations it ended up in due to weather conditions or whatever. It looks like it will arrive after the holiday but sometime next week for sure.

In the meantime, I have repeatedly enjoyed the Deland article in the December Genii which is holding me over very nicely until it arrives.

And yes RK, please do send me a replacement Eureka card. I wouldn’t mind having the spare as a backup since I plan to use the heck out of it. :D Much appreciated!

Speaking of that special card, it’s wonderful to have such perfectly printed versions of those old Deland creations. You can actually use them without suspicion or detection.

No matter how hard I tried not to repeat the timing of Tenyoism, it turns out that the timing is identical. Argh!

Hope you enjoy the book and associated goodies, Andrew. And a happy Christmas to you and your family.

Tired of all those aching muscles and bruised laps while attempting to read your latest over-sized magic book?

Then why not consider allowing a Taschen bookstand to take the strain from your over-worked limbs.

Read your book without risk of serious injury or simply use the stand to proudly display your latest purchase.

Available in three handy sizes.

You know it makes sense.

A bookstand for only one book? Pfah.

Thomas Jefferson could read 5 books at once.

Richard.

The book is marvelous! It is arguably your finest publication.

One question. The Mystery and Madness deck is supposed to include the cards needed for "Edward's Canadian Wonder", but I can't find them. Did you print cards that are different than the ones depicted in the book, or am I not playing with a full deck?

Richard, this is an astounding accomplishment, one of the biggest and greatest magic books ever published. I can't imagine anyone, including you, topping this book. Your line of publications are unmatched in the history of magic.
