Re: Fascinating gambling cheating device
A few years ago I was at a blackjack table in a popular Las Vegas casino. At one point, the dealer ran the cards through a reader of some sort and I asked what he was doing. He said the machine read the cards (value and suit) and counted them to make sure the deck(s) was complete by reading invisible markings on the side of the cards. I have only seen this on that one occasion, so I do not know if this is a common device in the casinos. I assume that, if this was on the up-and-up, the casino was protecting itself from players palming off cards.
It seems to me that this technology could benefit the casinos or a dishonest player depending on how it is used.
