It's mostly pretty nice. Especially like that it is easy to read.

The "By" line directly under the title of every post seems kinda redundant considering the poster's name is right there in large letters ~1 inch away in the avatar/poster's name box.

Today is the first day the board has appeared blue/grey on my browser.

It's nice, but I really liked the "buff" paper color scheme. I thought that color worked really well for all of RK's publications in the past (Apocalypse, Richard's Almanac, Looking Glass) and I think it's very easy to read and pleasant to look at.

Still, I'm sure this new color will grow on me.

The board color has not changed since we went live with the new site last week. Not sure why it would appear different on your monitor.

That just means it hasn't been read yet, not that it's stuck.

On one computer with Windows 7/IE 11, the board appears blue.

On this computer, with Windows 10/Microsoft Edge, the board appears grey/white.

(I got a PM from another forum member who noted the board does not show up as blue for them either).

Strange...

Blue-Grey over here in the backwoods.
No other colours affected, as they sometimes can be.

Haven't sent a PM; don't know how. Never figured it out.

Immediate Edit:
Anniversary Post. No cakes thanks, I'm on a diet.

I am not sure the color issue is important, but the board is grey and white on my iMac. I have not yet tried it on my Windows PC which I generally only use for video editing.

Way to jump into the twentieth century, Bob. (Bob used to view the site by staring at the entrails of a goat.)

One small annoyance I am seeing here is that I am logged out each time I close the browser (Firefox). Have to login again every day.

Anyone else seeing this?

Jim

I'm on Firefox on a Mac and I stay logged in. Sounds like maybe your security preferences in FF are set to not accept cookies?

I stay logged in as long as the computer's on. Switch it off for the day and next day it's time to log in again. That's IE.

I love this place! All my favorite people are here! Mark Lewis, Jim Riser, and others long banned from The Cafe. Everything works great now! Great job Richard!

Oh, it's real weird. My new boss just replaced my 7-year-old laptop. Desktop PC still requires me to sign in here every time. New laptop? Signed in once and that was the end of that. Odd as a duck.

one tiny complaint. When clicking the title to a post it is very easy to click on the poster's name and get sent to a log in request to view their profile.

other than that small annoyance everything seems to be working fine here

Richard,

Your desktop should just be a setting. I never sign it. One of the computer guru's could help you. Presume it's a setting in security.

Richard:

I just signed in with my Timex Sinclair 1000 and there was no problem, other than the cassette player that functions as the hard drive began to smoke.

Probably because you don't have the 16K memory expansion installed.

Fully agree.
I do it all the time. Though it doesn't seem unique to this board.

Just a thought: We've got the Green Place...will this become the Blue Place? :)

John:

You're right! I installed the memory expansion and now the Timex Sinclair 1000 is doing amazing things--like typing this reply even though it doesn't have a "real" keyboard, just a sort of membrane with letters. I'm hoping for some advances in this technology soon. I know these computer people are really smart so let's hope there's a Timex 2000 in the future soon!

Since a lot of effects are re-released as V 2.0, maybe it will be the Timex Sinclair 2.0?
