My next three columns will be about my work with Sands of the Desert. It will deal with how my life affects my art and the theory behind my views in constructing a routine. I know I publish a lot of personal stuff, this is why, my relationship with West (at the time, just friends) and her knowledge of ancient history and myth helped form my routine which along with my new handling of Clearly Impossible, became the template for my new persona.

Correct. However if memory serves, the magician in question was Leslie St Clair. There is a follow up to that story when I decided to do the same routine myself but I'll tell that adventure another day.
Billy told some wonderful stories in The Magigram.
The second column in my trilogy on Sands of the Desert is in this months issue. There is a great deal of theory here as well as practical knowledge. That is always an important goal, to consider theory and it's applications, when working out something new.
