Bammo Goes BANG!

Postby Matthew Field » March 29th, 2015, 3:40 pm

So -- I finish my editing of the massive Bammo Ten Card Poker Deal Dossier, thank god, the book is printed and -- BANG!

What do you know. Farmer (as in the author, Bob Farmer) has received permission to unveil yet another handling.

Now, I don't know about you, but think about it. No one knows what might not be in the book, so tough beans.

But, no. Farmer wants it in the book. MUST HAVE IT IN THE BOOK!

So we go through three versions of the write-up,. all of which must be proofread and edited, and the decision is made to get it onto both sides of a single sheet which will be included with the book.

Why? Because this version, from a working performer's repertoire, is good for ten minutes of stage time, has multiple climaxes, and is perfect for a closer. It's that good.

I'm a sceptic. Yet I love this routine. I think you will too.

Thanks, Bob, for moving heaven and hell to get this into the Bammo Ten Card Poker Deal Dossier. It's at http://www.magicana.com/ under "publications".

I'd be sending my money in today if I hadn't already done so. I'm looking forward to this.

I should add that my wife, Pat, also contributed some comments. And yes, I'll be including this very cool addition in every package.

Ken Brooke had an After Sales Service, which meant he would send customers updates and new handlings on props they had bought.

Mr Farmer is doing that before the customers have even bought the book!

When I was a poor grad student at LSE, I spent a lot of time at Ken Brooke's and literally got another post-graduate degree in how to do and sell magic. Yes, his instructions were fantastic, his after-sales service was unique and his ads were genius (especially the ones where he didn't even explain the effect, as in, "Gentlemen, nothing more need be said. If you are a professional performer or appreciate the best in professional items, this is for you.").

Is this the Ricky Jay handling advertised on the website as being found on page 318, or something else?

Something else. I don't see the Ricky Jay handling as beiong especially effective on a stage. It's a great close-up trick.

This is a parlor or stage piece.

The webpage still says April 1 in two places -- might want to update that.

Bob got ahead of me on that one. Yes, it is official, the Bammo TCDD pre publication offer is extended until April 10.

Here is the link: http://www.magicana.com/bammo

Right now, this is the only place the book will be for sale.

Thanks for your interest!
