Hi,
the title say enough,
are there some real stage illusions secrets (some special acts already never explained in the Magic Comunity) ? (old or not doesn't matter),
thanks for your replay,
Fabrice

Hi ,
thnks for the replay Mr. Kaufman,
of course I 'm not talking or fishing for secrets just I want try to do a short list of effects already secrets even for the magic comunity,
to me ( starting this list, preferibly stage effects ) come to mind 2 effects:
- the "LUDWIG DÖBLER operning trick " lighting a lot of candels shooting from a Gun (one shot)
- Winston Freer Levitation (officially never published I think?)
what you will add in the list ?
thanks,
Fabrice

Hello!
Re the inquiry about candle (gas jets?) lighting the entire theater at a pistol shot, to my knowledge, it was one of the first recorded use of electricity for magic/theatrical effect (along with Houdin's Light Heavy Chest, of course!)... gas jets were run to each candle and along with wires - a quick shot of electricity provided the needed spark to light the candles - an extraordinary amount of preparation even now, but, it must have been absolutely incredible back then! I believe it's described in Gibson's "The Master Magicians - Their Lives and Most Famous Tricks" (the first magic book I ever read!), but, the name of the performer unfortunately escapes me at present...
By way of brief introduction, I performed in colonial garb during the Bicentennial as "Mr. Pockets", and was last road manager and assistant to "Kramer & Co.", for those of sufficient age to remember their fantastic illusion show... current constraints prohibit my subscribing to Genii at present, but came across the inquiry and figured I'd pass the info along! I can be reached at rvhfisher@gmail.com should you care to communicate!
