Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Good news! Happy to hear he is OK.
Without Stereo's blog, I believe we will not see as many new Tenyo collectors as when it was active.
His blog was my introduction to Tenyo, my source to learn about the past releases, a place to reminisce about the Tenyo I saw demoed and for sale years ago in my long lost magic shop, a link to performance videos, my catalogue, my obsession...
I very much look forward to your book Richard as it will be a physical resource that cannot just disappear into nothing, as all online dependent content is, but if I was not already a Tenyo collector I may never have considered wanting this huge, great, and expensive book(s).
Maybe Tenyo or Genii could purchase his blog?
Salutations to Stereo! May your pivotal contribution to Tenyo, which has infected so many, not be forgotten.

Just like Stereo and his blog... Poof! Victim to another Magic Cafe censorship. The thread has vanished.
His final words, his reasoning, the opinions, the facts... Gone.
I'll take my Genii in print form please

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Given that, sadly, this appears to be standard operating procedure for the entities behind the Magic Cafe, did anyone screengrab the post so those of us who were too late can read what he had to say?

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
I am not a Tenyo collector, but I read the thread that Richard linked to, and for the life of me, I cannot fathom any reason that it would have been deleted.
Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Stereo's blog has been invaluable as my interest in Tenyo has grown over the last year or so.
I'll miss it greatly.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
They Are absolute jerks at the café especially brooks, I wouldn't waste my time there.
Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
I don't believe that Steve Brooks would steal, cheat or lie to further political ends, or indeed for any ends.
The Cafe has many uses. It also creates many problems as it is open to all, at all levels and, like all forums everyone thinks they are entitled to their opinion, regardless of how flawed it might be.
Like many of you, I too get irritated when posts and/or threads get deleted for apparently no perceptible reason.
It could be that someone is a friend of a particular moderator, or maybe someone has simply broken the rules.
A lot of these problems would be solved if a reason was given.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Quentin,
based on specific interactions and the words said to me personally by Steve brooks, based on specific information which I know Steve to possess and his choices made in light of that information, I have no doubt that Steve brooks would do anything - lie cheat or steal - to foster his own personal interests.
I would hold the opinion he is a sociopath, except I don't believe he is smart enough to deserve that diagnosis.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Before anybody freaks out about attaching the word "sociopath" to accurately observed behavior, let's examine what the word "sociopath" actually means.
1) Sociopaths are delusional by nature, and literally believe because they say something, it
becomes an indisputable truth.
2) Sociopaths never apologize to anybody, for any reason.
3) Sociopaths tend to be intelligent, but can exhibit their sociopathic behaviors on
"autopilot" while being somewhat less than intelligent.
4) Sociopaths seek to dominate others and "win" at all costs, regardless the effort
required.
5) Sociopaths invent outrageous lies about their experiences and intentions.
6) Sociopaths are incapable of feeling shame, guilt or remorse.
7) Sociopaths can be (but aren't always) described as "charming".
For those who may have been around long enough to witness all of the above behavior as displayed by various Magic Cafe management and moderator types, all of the above descriptors are nothing more than accurate representations of what people have read and seen happen with their own eyes. You can't make stuff like this up.
Attaching an accurate name such as "sociopath" to a persons behavior is nothing more than providing the context within which observed behavior occurs.
In other words, Brad has accurately attached a single, descriptive word to a series of observed behaviors witnessed repeatedly and endlessly by tens of thousands of Magic Cafe guests.

Thanks Richard.
Would the Tenyo data and pictures he collected be welcome in the Magicpedia at genii?

His website was enormous. Far too big for MagicPedia to absorb.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Seems like a great opportunity for another Tenyo fan (or fans) to create a similar site. I'd think something along the lines of a "Tenyo Fans Wiki" would work well (and allow some crowd sourcing) for those interested in the topic.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
It took Stereo many years to build his blog and is not something that could be easily replicated.
Creating a Tenyo wiki is a bad idea because it would contain mostly misinformation and mislead many people.

Re: A Note from Stereo about his Tenyo Blog
Wikis can require authenticated accounts and moderation, so I don't think it's necessarily a bad or unrealistic idea for this sort of thing. Even though I'm not a Tenyo enthusiast, I did visit Stereo's site a few times and it was loaded with information, albeit presented in a somewhat user unfriendly way.
I think the hardest part would be finding someone appropriately tech savvy enough with the time/funding/etc. to want to create/moderate such a site. As with Magipedia, I don't think anyone would realistically expect a new Tenyo fan site to match up (at first) to other other similar sites that have built up for several years.

I assume that is part of their elite line, yes?

A pity, eh?
First you get bullied, and then the largest Forum in magic keeps deleting the threads where you want to discuss, thereby bullying you again!
