October 2013 Issue with Eugene Burger
The October 2013 issue of Genii, with Eugene Burger on the cover, just arrived in Minot, North Dakota. My wife, in act of utter cruelty, hid the magazine until I had completed my "honey to do list" chores. Eventually, I got my magazine back. Richard, you've outdone yourself!!! More Eugene Burger than I have seen in a long time, a Real Secrets bonanza (I am sending for my free trick on Monday - Thanks Real Secrets). David Kaye and Jim Steinmeyer are great (as usual). David Regal's "here's my thoughts as I review tricks" section can't be understated. I subscribe to Reel Magic DVD (where he also reviews tricks) and his advice is important, not just to magic purchasers, but especially to those who create magic to sell. Fantastic issue.

Re: October 2013 Issue with Eugene Burger
Thanks for the kind words. I am ashamed to admit that this is the first time I've put my friend Eugene on the cover since buying Genii in 1998. I actually wrote the story when he was on the cover in the 1980s.
All told I think it's a very good issue. Tell your friends to subscribe!

Richard,
My Oct. issue arrived today (9/16) in San Diego CA, if the information helps.
It's odd to see it before the digital issue! -)

And arrived here in SW Virginia today (the 16th) as well. It is odd to have the physical issue in my hands before the iPad version.

Hoping now to get the digital issue up tomorrow despite some unusual problems--one of them being that the damn flu shot I got in my arm two weeks ago is causing me a lot of pain down the arm. Idiot pharmacist must have hit a nerve or something. Makes it very painful to type.

Re: October 2013 Issue with Eugene Burger
A very good issue, which I enjoyed overall. Though I'm really hoping that the "Real Magic" stuff (which took up something like 8-10 pages) doesn't become a regular feature. Reasonable people might disagree, but I found it a real letdown compared to the consistently excellent "Magicana".
I thought Sara Crasson's article was very informative and I enjoyed her response to several questions that came up here in the forums.

Re: October 2013 Issue with Eugene Burger
Chris, the Real Secrets items are part of an article that appears only this month. The reason the article is so big is because of the number of pages required to reproduce the props.
Magicana returns in the November issue as normal.

Re: October 2013 Issue with Eugene Burger
Eugene was our star for Indy Magic Monthly's 5th anniversary. The show was sold out, the lecture after the show was well attended, and over all, he's a great performer and a great draw. Plus, he's my friend and fan. What else can you have for a perfect evening?

Arrived today in the San Francisco East Bay. No idea what the post office does that consistently gets it here two days after it arrives in the city.

Actually arrived in central Georgia last Saturday! (The 18th). Love all the hidden-in-plain-sight Halloween icons. A nice touch to a great issue.

Arrived today in Manchester, England.
Very impressed with David Regal's intro to his column. He hasn't said anything new but what he says needs repeating and David says it very well.
