Has anyone ever seen a Tenyo Magic Coaster?
Hello! My name is Brad Toulouse. I am a Tenyo Collector from Canada. I have a pretty extensive collection of Tenyo....last time I checked I think I'm missing only two or three from the regular line-up!
Soooo....like my post stated: has anyone ever seen first hand the elusive Tenyo Magic Coaster? I have seen some pics of it on the blog site. However if anyone here has ever seen one or if they actually own one....WOW I'd love to see a photo!!
Just getting hooked on this blog....looking forward to some fun discussions....can't wait until your book comes out this fall Richard!!

Re: Has anyone ever seen a Tenyo Magic Coaster?
Magic Coaster has never been seen by Richard, myself, or anyone that we know in the Tenyo magic world. Further, not even Tenyo remembers ever seeing Magic Coaster.
I believe the current theory is that it was conceptual only, even planned for production, but likely never produced. With that said, it cannot be stated factually that it was never produced as no one remembers much about it or has ever seen it.
If it was produced, it is likely the rarest Tenyo T-series trick in existence.

Magic Coaster, like Breakaway Fan, was actually produced. I have the details on both of these items for my book. However, at this point in time, I do not know of anyone who currently has examples of either item from the period when they were made.

I think I may have one. Was it blue with a little trap door?

Yeah, the infamous breakaway fan is another one I have never seen.

Wow, think we all would love to see it!
Just FYI- I would be interested in buying it
Everyone knows it's rare, so just name your price.
Thanks for considering and I hope I beat the other Tenyo collectors
who really don't want it.

Well anyone interested in selling a spare Billscape (brand new or nearly new) with a view to building up a war chest for a possible Magic Coaster (or any other rare Tenyo) bidding war just let me know by private message...
Andrew
(C'mon - I know a few of you guys will have more than one in your collection...)

Bob: no, Magic Coaster is not made of plastic and does not have a little blue trap door.
Breakway Fan did indeed exist because I have spoken to a magic dealer who ordered them from Tenyo at the time they were first sold, and he sold them in his shop.

I too have a round coaster in blue plastic with a trapdoor - I think it was Japanese, but not Tenyo. The photos linked to in this thread seem to show a playing card.
Re: Has anyone ever seen a Tenyo Magic Coaster?
Now that you mention it, I think I have the blue coaster with the 'flap' mentioned by Bob and others.
I'm assuming it's Tenyo as I would have no other reason to purchase it - I must try and look it out.
The only other manufacturer I can think of is Marvin's Magic as I used to have a couple of their items.

The one I have is like this:

And complete with box:

Sorry, I know it's not the Tenyo one.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a Tenyo Magic Coaster?
The blue coaster version was released by Paul Daniels as part of his magic range (TV Magic Tricks - marketed as "Coin Through Glass").
I even managed to find one on EBay:

Most of the blue plastic coasters were made by Chu's magic.
