This thread is as disappointing as what my significant other tried to pull on me the other day at dinner. It looked like a delicious mound of mashed potatoes but when I dug in it was puree of cauliflower.

Hi Oliver,
May be I am naive, it's really possible, but I do not see it as a competition. If for some years it is me who gives information about new Tenyo first, it's just because I'm the only one to search, and because it was my role to do because the blog. Personally I'm just trying to make things at the better.

You must understand that I have nothing to gain by being the first, it's just extra work, and I do it because I like that and I am passionate about. All people like me who publishes information on a free blog do not do it for the glory. There is no glory to be hoped, nothing, there's nothing but work, more work. I have already explained hundred times because it is the main lesson that I learned during these four years. When thou do something like that it should be done for fun, because you will not gain anything other than the pleasure of the work done. And if you hope something in return, you give up after six months because it's ungrateful. It works like this.

The last thing is that when you make a blog like mine is to share things, so if someone wanted to find the information before me, I see it as a reward, rather than as a competitor.

Stereo's post seems out of place because I deleted part of my post above as he was writing his.

I had something in there like "Stereo is the guy who usually is first to deliver this kind of information."

That is what Stereo is responding to.

Sorry for the confusion.

With respect to X-Ray Vision Power, we are told that the gimmick is "diabolical." This is a popular term in the magic community; I've seen it repeatedly over the past several years. Never entirely clear what it means and how this is determined.

Looking forward to demonstrations of these new Tenyo effects. I just received my first order from Magico Japan and have bid on three more on eBay. Enough to keep me busy until these new ones become available.

Suspense ? Yes I think it's better to make the pleasure last few days.

But this is not the main reason... The main reason Is that it takes lot of time to make each photo illustration. Although everyone actually do not care about this kind of subtleties, It does not come out all ready from a magician's Hat.

Now all tricks of the 2014 line are listed on the blog.

Stereo, the illustrations are beautiful. Did your source not get photos from the toy fair (other than the one)?

I'm curious to see who invented which of the three tricks (other than the trick from Lubor).

Thanks!

In fact, from what I was told, there is some backstage stories about the fact there is no photo of the props from the Toy fair. Last year Tenyo 2013 line was presented at The Tokyo Toy show on the Buyer's days( only opened for professionals) AND on the general public days. Photos are strictly prohibited on the magic part and Japanese public respect such rules.

But last year some photos leaked, like the one of Card Surgery. Tenyo was not happy at all and this year they canceled the presentation for the general public and only show the new tricks to professionals. In addition, they were very attentive that no picture is taken this time. Looks like they are afraid of Chinese copies, although I find it quite surprising.

Then a magicien in Japan recommended me to delete all the informations that I published and remove the real photo as this could cause problems. I reply that If Tenyo wants me to delete informations they can ask me directly. And also that if it's not me who publish the informations, it will be someone else. It is like that, when you show your new collection to thousands of people, you can't expect that no informations leaks.

That is why the photos are nonexistent for the moment. It's like this every year, and we must wait for the next Tenyo Magic Festival in october/november to finally have all details.
My contact saw the presentation of the line, and say that he was surprised about Flash Money and the fact that at the end the magician puts on the table each bill one after the other, and tell me that X-ray Vision Power will fool even the magicians.

I have to ask about Lubor's trick because this one looks very intriguing. And for "Magical Changing Card" I think it can be either very good or very bad and will have to wait the video to know. And as soon as I know who are the creators I'll tell you, but maybe someone will find this inforamtion before me. I also want to know this detail because I like to follow the "progress" of each creator and compare with its previous creations.

Stereo:

I think Tenyo would be very foolish to shut you (or anyone else's site) down.

If the Chinese (or anyone else) want to copy something, believe me, they will find a way with or without excellent sites like yours.

If anything, your efforts only create more business for Tenyo.

I was curious about the Tokyo toy fair so I watched several videos on YouTube for both 2012 and 2013. Tenyo didn't appear in any of them. Could this be due to a concern about early exposure and they prohibit any video of their exhibit, even non-magic items? From what I've read here they seem very popular so I was surprised by the omission.

It was my goal, to introduce the brand to people, I hope you will not be disappointed with your purchases !
Which trick did you choose?

I chose Tenyo because it's a childhood memory, but especially because it is financially affordable for me. I'd love to make a blog like this on Magic Wagons, Collector's workshop, françois Danis... But it's impossible regarding the prices of this kind of items. So Tenyo is very nice in the sense that everyone can buy them, every years, it is open to all, regardless of the standard of living.

I both presume and hope that you're kidding, Angelo.

Also, to state the obvious, the "Zig-Zag Deck" in your February YT video is way beyond "clever".

Stereo started his Tenyo blog after Angelo's had been dormant for five or so years. I believe that Angelo last updated his blog in 2005.

All blogs reflect the personality of their creators, and both Tenyo blogs are different.
