ALL AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER ISSUES AIRMAILED TO FOREIGN SUBSCRIBERS TODAY!

Postby Richard Kaufman » August 30th, 2005, 12:07 pm

Finally I have some good news to report: the mailing company located all of the missing August and September issues in their warehouse and everything has been mailed out today by either courier or Priority Air Mail.
So, please pass this message along: all of our subscribers outside the United States will be receiving their August and September issues within the next week.
We are working closely with them so we don't encounter similar problems in the future.
And now back to our regularly scheduled program, which includes a two-hour plus DVD in our October issue from L&L Publishing.

Hi Richard

If you don't mind me asking - what explanation did the mailing company give for mislaying such a large order ?

"Oops, we didn't see it ..." :D

Looking forward to receiving the issues :-)

Three large distribution companies, including World Distribution and Johnson and Hayword, were all bought by Pitney Bowes. They are in the process of consolidating operations into their warehouses. Thousands of boxes of magazines were being shipped into the warehouse in New Jersey and they simply did not have the organization in place to deal with it. Our boxes of magazines were just sitting somewhere in the warehouse--IGNORED!
Anyway, after we threatened to sue them, they finally got off their asses and spend several days looking through the warehouse in order to find them. The ex-president of Johnson and Hayword found them for us.
So, everything has now been mailed!

Well, normally priority airamail from the States takes 7 days to DK, the day it is send off included, so THIS week that now has run out, I should have gotten my copies!
Maybe next week... :)

I'm beginning to doubt that the courier company sent these Priority Airmail, despite what they said. I send a fair few packages to the States, and the longest they take is seven days. I think it is increasingly unlikely that the Royal Mail has delayed all (aparantly) the UK missing issues. I know they have lost packages in the past, but to delay _two_ packages for each person for upwards of three weeks stretches credibility a wee bit.

I'm going to take an interest in any franking marks on the packaging of the three issues in question (if they turn up). RK - you said to let you know at the end of this week. I think you might like to have a word with the shipping company and get proof that they all went Priority Airmail.

Take care, Ian

Not to stirr up anymore re this, but 7 days EXACTLY is what I experienced too when getting stuff/DVDs via Priority Airmail from the States to Denmark!

This 7 days schedule include the day it is send off as well as the day I did receive the package.

Sometimes they even managed within 5 days, but 7 days always was the limit one could count on..
Just to confirm your observation re that 7 days limit..

I got Daryl and Angel this morning. The Priority Airmail sticker on the envelopes has a Swedish return address on both.

It looks like they were shipped to Sweden, and then mailed from there...

But hey, I wouldn't have had time to read them anyway.

Take care, Ian

Lucky you...and the distance from Sweden to Denmark is even a bit shorter, but...
Just a sign, the postal service neither is what it used to be.. :)
Oh well, there is always another week...

In any case, we all will enjoy the weekend with or without the August and September issues.

I'll let you know here, when my copies arrive, just to let you all know, there is one more satisfied customer :D ;)

I always thought, the capital of the world was Denmark.. :D and not Sweden.. :p

The distributor, that uneducated individual, should get educated...looks to me, that to him Europe IS Sweden...

What a lamer...

Somehow I would appreciate if he had sleepless nights, but to the best of my knowledge, ppl with lack of intelligence always sleep very well :p

Back to sleep..
I had a dream I was surrounded by a pile of unread Genii's that did arrive all at once for the whole year of 2005 and I had problems in absorbing all the info contained there..luckily it turned out, the problem didn't exist..so back to sleep..
Oh, it just occured to me, to that distributor Denmark is a smal place in Russia and unless Xmas is not at the same date then here in DK I have something to look forward too..

A witchcraft ban and the most naughty wishes to ppl not able to do decent work for the money they are payed for!

In order to avoid charging $8 per issue for normal airmail delivery for foreign subscribers, most magazines use companies that do bulk airmail shipments and then disburse the magazines through the normal mail system. In this case it appears everything was shipped by air to Sweden and then put into the mail there.
Glad to hear that the issues have arrived. Those who have paid for airmail delivery should, I hope, see October in the not too distant future.

The September issue arrived today (Sept. 24) in my corner of England. August's issue is still missing (so I don't know what Criss Angel is up about :( ) and I assume it's a bit early for the October issue.

I have had my August Issue for at least a fortnight now. Still waiting for September issue. Mind you I only pay for surface mail but judging by the number of posts here it appears to be just as quick. I think the air companies cannot afford the absurd rise in fuel. hehe
