PS: I've recently started going back over the Kaufman years at Genii, carefully rereading each issue. It is absolutely mind boggling how much good stuff is there--from terrific feature articles (the Patrick Page piece is priceless) to some extremely strong, often overlooked magic (not telling). Subscriptions are a large part of what keeps magic magazines in business. I'd encourage everyone reading this board to join up and keep Genii thriving!

Genii isn't going anywhere, but it's amazing how many niche market magazines couldn't keep their boats afloat. Part of it is that they're bloated, with too many employees, or owned by large corporations who can't be bothered if the magazine doesn't make their definition of "enough" money.

Things are swell at Genii.

Oddly, that's a total waste of plastic. Now that every issue is available to subscribers on Ask Alexander, why? Granted the fact I'm spoiled and have lightning access to the 'cloud' of information, I still don't see why the landfill would want to be full of round things it doesn't need?

Where are those CDs available? lybrary.com? Rather have the download (although not the entire DL- rather just have the articles)

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Ask Alexander, but I would also really like a way to get a whole backissue of Genii in PDF instead of the current page-at-a-time model.

I always hate to see magazines fold. I'm probably the champion bag holder. Off hand I believe I subscribed to the following when their demise came:

Talisman (I got 2 of the 52 I paid for)
The Hierophant
West Coast Quarterly
Cogitations

I know there are others, but I can't remember now.

I'm curious as to other names. I know Street Magic folded, but I don't believe it ever took subscriptions.

There also was one meant for the public that went to an early grave I believe.

Uh ... I subscribed to Arcane and got NO issues, and Epoptica and got ONE issue. But we all already knew that. :)

David London's Beyond the Smoke & Mirrors (still owes subscribers 2 issues that I've now written off).

Jim Sisti's Magic Menu (still owes a final issue... another write off).

Antinomy (the only one that I believe will ultimately fulfill its promise of a final issue & annual CD).
