A release from Michael Weber's Family:

Michael:

DO NOT let Matt Field do anything for you. He's got this whole thing with the laying on of hands and throwing rose petals on your face and it simply doesn't work.

Get well soon.

Michael,

Here's to a speedy and full recovery. Do what the nurses tell you to do: they are the key to hospital survival! And if there's anything you need, let me know and I'll call Matt.

Michael, you better heal quick the Bash is coming up soon. For a few bucks we could hire a guard to keep Matt Field out of your room.

Michael's recovery time will be measured in months, not weeks.

Unfortunately he won't be able to appear at our convention.

I've only gotten to meet Michael on a handful of occasions, but each time has been just as insightful and worldview-expanding as the last. If you're reading this, Mike, thanks for all the wonderful chats and mini-lessons and sorry again about that one time with the thing. Yeah.

Here's to a speedy recovery for a great thinker, game-changer, and all-around Life Saver. Get well soon, you Walking Swiss Army Knife, you.

Best wishes for a fast and complete recovery. Your creations have been a source of inspiration for years...and "life savers" on more than a few occasions. You'll be sorely missed at the Bash, but hopefully you'll be part of Magic Live next August.

Take care Michael!

Is it OK to ask the nature of the ailment?

A quick story that the late Mark Sicher shared with me. Mark was in the hospital and his friend David Williamson dropped by with Michael Weber (whom Mark was meeting for the first time). They had just arrived when a nurse wals in and Mr. Weber says very loudly, "Is that the one that you said gave you a b**w job?" Mark was mortified but, I found that to be hilarious.

I hope he gets better soon!

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery, Michael.

I've only attended one of your workshops (most recently at Magic*Con 2012) but it would have been worth the cost of the plane ticket and four days' worth of lodging just to see you for those few all-too-fast hours.

Any bets we'll see some amazing new stuff from Mr. Weber shortly after that recovery? I can't help but think his mind has remained in high creative gear no matter what.
