Hold Onto Your Hats: URI GELLER Booked for the Genii Convention!

Postby Richard Kaufman » June 28th, 2012, 1:37 pm

I'm thrilled beyond words to announce that the world's most famous mystifier, Uri Geller, will present a lecture at Genii's 75th Anniversary Birthday Bash.

Uri will mesmerize you in his first EVER appearance at a magic convention in the United States.

Odd, the spoon in my room is bent.

This is great news. I saw Uri receive the Berglas award at the International Convention a few years ago and he was delightful, and very candid.

I'm really looking forward to this.

Uri Geller was recently at the Masters of Magic Convention in Italy and he did a very good lecture/demonstration where he was very honest with his skills and where he talked about the importance of the mystery.

I had the pleasure to interview him again: http://www.mastersofmagic.it/2012/05/uri-geller-2/ (the first time was in 1997!)

I'm sure the attendees to the Genii Convention will be in for a spectacular threat! Well done, Richard!

Did he admit to being a magician and having no 'powers' in Italy?

If he did a "OK, I admit it" lecture that would be worth seeing...

Looking at the first few minutes of that interview, I doubt he will EVER admit it.

He is never going to call himself a magician. What he has to teach is extraordinarily valuable. And since you didn't see the lecture in Italy, Damian, I suggest you hold your opinion until you see it in Orlando.

Boy Richard, you're making it really tough not to show up. Unfortunately my wallet is saying otherwise.

Geller is a Magician (capital "M"), but not he's the first to affirm he's not a conjurer, and his opinions are very clear on the subject. I would suggest you check him out at the Genii Convention where I predict will give the same talk (maybe a little longer as he won't need translation...).

The funny thing is... I was happy to register when you first announced the birthday bash. That was months ago with a much more modest line-up. The fact is, that this has now grown into the most anticipated event of the last decade(s), and when it sells out (and I have no doubt that it WILL sell out) I can only imagine the remorse felt by those who waited too long to give in to temptation.

Ahh... by the way... "Thank you, Richard!"

I'm NOT making fun, Marco. I know you meant "treat"! (Although "threat" conjures up some interesting interpretations.) ;)

LOL: you're quite right, Doug! It's one on that serendipitous things that happen (when one doesn't read before submitting...) and gives a completely new meaning to a phrase. But, yes, you're right, I meant "treat". Mysteries of the English language! :D

OK Richard, Uri was the tipping point. Rather then wait, I have just registered for the convention. Now I can't wait!
