Rainbow Deck

Postby Leonard Hevia » April 23rd, 2012, 8:58 pm

After two years of acquiring decks, I have what amounts to as the close-to-perfect Rainbow Deck. There were certain features that I had always wanted in a RD and I have succeeded in meeting these goals:

1. This deck is comprised of 52 different cards. It is not a specially printed deck. Many of the cards have the classic backs that we are familiar with such as the Tally-Ho, Bicycle, and Bee brands.

2. All of the backs have white borders. When you hold this deck in dealing position and bevel it, there is nothing to see.

3. All of the faces are Bicycle poker standard 808. There are no Arrco court cards in this deck, and there are no funny pips or extra little numbers on the numerical face cards to tip off this deck. You can Hindu shuffle or spread it on the table face up with no fear of detection.

4. The white background color on the faces of all the cards is uniform. I abandoned vintage decks because the cards have aged to a yellow or grayish color. Insert a vintage card in a brand new deck and spread it face up. You will instantly spot it.

5. All of the red face cards have a uniform bright cherry red color. There are no rust/maroon colored red cards here that would raise a red? flag.

6. With the exception of 2 cards that have a Cambric finish (Bulldog Squeezers) all of the cards are Air Cushion. There are no cards in this deck that feel like cheap cardboard. I rejected the Budweiser Deck, Aviators, and others because I didn't like the finish on them.

7. Each deck also contains a blank face card for those who might want to reverse fan it to show blank faces in their routines. I also added a standard Bicycle Ace of Spades for those decks that wound up without a standard AoS.

When these decks are gone, I'm finished. I did this once to get it out of my system. The price for each deck is $40.00 plus $5.00 for shipping in the U.S.

Thanks for the kind words Gary. Knock em dead with it!

All of the decks that were ordered from me since I posted my ad last Sunday have been mailed out this morning. I'm sure the Chief Genii is wondering if this deck is really that good. His wish is my command and a RD is on the way to his office. There are 36 decks still available.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I'm looking over my shoulder and still see a small stack of unsold books. Harry Lorayne's Apocalypse Vol. 1 in nice condition is still available for $65.00 postpaid. This is not a bad price for any volume of Apocalypse. Here's what Lorayne wrote about Volume 1:

Will you get your money's worth in Apocalypse? Harry Lorayne has always given much more than your money's worth. Listen to a few of the many unsolicited remarks re: Volume 1--"I've already performed Monte Plus at tables, for the money, many times. It's a killer; it definitely has paid for the book a few times over." "I would have paid the price of the book for only Two Shuffles Harry, Harry.

Thank you Erdnasephile. Knock em dead with it, pal. Speaking of which, I forgot to write in my ad that I do take Paypal. I made the kind of RD that I wanted to have. That you could shuffle or spread face up without trembling. That didn't have cheap cards with little animals and cartoons on the back. Nobody stepped up to the plate so I bit the bullet and kept looking for decks. After about 30 decks you hit a wall and the only way over it is eBay...

Come inside the show's about to start
guaranteed to blow your head apart
Rest assured you'll get your money's worth

I don't know anything about the use of these decks but the enthusiasm that everyone has for them has me wanting to get one? What books have the best information on the uses for this kind of deck?

Peace, Joe

Derek Dingle has a really good Rainbow Deck routine in one of the Symposium books--I think it may be number 3 (the white one).

Joe:
Keep in mind that just about any color changing deck routine can be done with a rainbow deck to give it a little extra punch. (presentation willing, of course :) )

Try "Strangers Gallery" from John Bannon's Smoke and Mirrors book. Erdnasephile is correct. Any color changing deck routine will work.

They arrived today Leo - really, really fine work. Bravo!

Because of your guidelines in assembling the decks, I am reworking some routines to take advantage of the innocent face-up condition.

Thanks very much.

I might have Seuss. It's starting to get daunting here. People are inquiring but not buying; others are buying and I have to record their addresses and head to the post office.

Just Paypal me $45.00 if you want one--$85.00 for two.
Okay? The info is at the top of this thread. Take care.

You're the last one Mark. I'm out of decks.

I even had to sell the one I was keeping for myself. I want to thank everybody who bought a Rainbow Deck from me. I know I left a few folks out, so I've decided to work on another batch of 52 decks and I should be done by the end of this summer.
