New Shop - Modern Conjuring Center
Hi to all fellow magicians... few months ago I started a new online webshop for used/vintage and antique magic tricks and books. I just bought a huge collection of books, back to 1700 and up to these days....To list all the items is a day and night job...but it's fun and interesting. Please take a look, open for any comments... you find my shop Modern Conjuring Center here

Don't you think $199 for a Siegfried and Roy t-shirt is a bit much?

Re: New Shop - Modern Conjuring Center
Since you asked for feedback, here goes.I will have to agree with Richard on some pricing. Most book prices seem high, I noted especially the Dunninger's Complete Encyclopedia of Magic for $49.00, that usually sells in the $5.00 range everywhere. Overall the site is nice, prices seem out of line. This is only my opinion and you wanted feedback.

You can't use Abebooks or Alibras as any sort of guide to the price of books. Dealers put books up there with enormous prices and they just sit in the listing waiting for an uneducated sucker to come along.
Rune: you shouldn't disagree with the comments here. You should take them as good advice and adjust your prices. No one cares if the Siegfried and Roy t-shirt is handpainted. And no one will buy a copy of Greater Magic for over $500 unless it's a MINT first edition, first printing, with a pristine dustjacket. Otherwise it's worth about $100.

Check out bookfinder.com. They don't have all of the books you are looking for magic wise but they pull in listings from most booksellers. You will be able to see a high and low price. eBay is also a great way to get educated over time, but you need to take the time to see what the real market is. I agree with the others, your prices are too high. Best of luck on your new venture.
Peace, Joe

Re: New Shop - Modern Conjuring Center
Richard,
I asked for comments. I'm happy for all comments on pricing. For me is to argue in a pleasant way on my pricing in this forum a way to learn what common magicians is thinking about the way I thinking on pricing - in this case there are some books and products that are priced to high. This will help me to price thousands of magic items I will add to the store in the months to come. Anyway I think there are some difference in pricing between US and Europe. I need to look in to this carefully and find a level where there will be more realistic.
I appreciate all your comments. Thanks

Hi Joe
I will take a look at bookfinder.com. I have already looked in to the ebay pricing, but sometimes they are sky high. Thank you for your advice.

Re: New Shop - Modern Conjuring Center
I just checked Bookfinder.com and there are 50 copies of the Dunninger for under $15.00. First edition first printing of Greater Magic $429 without a dust jacket. Richard your edition is running $454.
