Wanted 3 piece puzzle/magic counting mystery
I'm looking for the trick/puzzle where a picture shows about 19 children...there are three pieces. One piece is longer (maybe 10 inches, and stays on the bottom...There are two other rectangular pieces that rest on top of the longer.) When you exchange the top pieces, a child (or animal) disappears. Is there a name to this? Do you know where I can buy this puzzle? Or where I can download a copy? Wasn't there a cardboard give-a-away in one of the magazines a few years back?

I believe you are referring to the "The Vanishing Leprechaun" puzzle by http://geniimagazine.com/magicpedia/Bill_Elliott
See some discussion here: http://www.geniimagazine.com/forums/ubb ... umber=3166
I think there were some examples also in the http://geniimagazine.com/magicpedia/Genii_2008_October

Max:
If you like this sort of puzzle, here is a nice shop for them:
http://www.samuelloyd.com/store/puzzle-shop/
Also, MAGIC magazine had a rather diabolical version of this with a Bermuda triangle theme a while back--I don't have the reference handy, but someone out there surely does.

Hey Max,
Here's one with ghosts from Tenyo, sold by SEO Magic. I think Richard mentioned this in a recent Genii Speaks.

Look at 'Other Magic Publications" in this forum...Amazing Geometric Vanish...
Magic Magazine gives a PDF for such a puzzle.
