Bill, I can't believe you haven't received your book yet? Crap! If it's any consolation, mine just arrived today, strapped to a mule walking backward.

If it was a smiling mule, you've mistakenly received Roy Walton's copy.

It is encouraging to know that the mule is by now on the inner loop of the Beltway headed for 50E.

Don't blame me: blame the bastard who bought it and pirated it. The only way books like this get published is because lots of people buy them and do NOT download pirated material.

Hi there,
Joe,
Glad to hear I won't have to wait longer just because the pesky UK government wants some free money. :-)
Regards,
Scotbloke
P.S. Gotta say, I'm pretty shocked if some idiot has already chucked it up on the internet. Just disgraceful.

I can't find the torrent site that's offering it, but I have a guy working on taking it down once it's located.

I think the original poster (or anyone else) should PM Richard with the details of which Torrent site has uploaded the Berglas book.

It actually arrived either Wed, Thu, or Fri. My wife thought it belonged to the UPS crap pertaining to her business. So there it sat amidst the pile.
(sigh) . . . more grounds for divorce.
The entire project is magnificent, and I am certain it will set the standard for how magic books will be published in the 21st Century.

Still have not received it in San Francisco, if our books went out on May 27 (18 days ago).

I know. You've got to love the USPS. In the last two months I've sent packages to my parents via "media mail" and they've miraculously arrived, across the country, in 3 days. Some Postal Inspector is probably enjoying my copy of the Berglas book.

Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
I just received the following update from my printer:
"The mailing was taken to the post office on 5/27. They have to sort it and the ship it. With the holiday on May 29th the packages mostly left on June 1st. Delivery time for Foreign and domestic runs 7-21 business days. The later of the 2 is for rural areas."
So, that means all books should be delivered by 21 business days from June 1, which unfortunately is June 29. I hope all of you will understand that the printer shipped the books incorrectly which is what accounts for the long delay in receiving them. All of your books have been mailed and are on their way to you.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the information. Now I have a late date to shoot for before bothering you. From those who have received it, it sounds like you did an amazing job. I hope to be amazed before too long.
Thanks again for keeping us up to date on the ways of the USPS.

Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
I guess we San Franciscans are now considered "rural". Last time there was a farm here was 150 years ago, thus one of our neighborhoods is called Cow Hollow. Your printer needs to update his maps, Richard. I'll wander out to the pasture again tomorrow - perhaps it got dropped in a cow pie by mistake.
Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
If San Francisco is considered "rural" then Roseville (near Sacramento) must be considered "rustic". However, I do remember having to dodge cows in the road on the way to work back in the late 80's.

The service offered by the post office is no better than my printer's assessment of what is rural or urban!

Now that's a scary thought if the printer is determining what is urban and what is rural! This whole exercise has shed some light on an area of the post office that I was unaware of. So at least it's been a good learning experience.

The only thing I've learned is that I can't trust this printer to follow instructions, and I wish the last month had never happened.

The holiday was actually on May 30th... but apparently they decided to take May 31st off as well for good measure.

Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
The long awaited book "The Berglas Effects" arrived here in Northwest New Jersey yesterday. The book in itself was definitely worth the wait for anyone seriously seeking thoughts and ideas(techniques)in performing exceptional card magic. The book is far beyond the reach of those choosing to attack THE AUTHORITY over on the Green Monster while still attempting to hold onto their bottle of baby formula. Well done, Richard, in bringing this project to life and hats off to David Berglas for allowing it to happen.

Enjoying the Berglas book and DVDs. On my copy of DVD #2, the EMC Interview is repeated (Chapter 16 and Chapter 17 on the DVD menus). I assume that is true of all copies and that we are not missing a chapter that should have been there?

Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
Dick, I've just looked at the disc in Windows Media Player. While it appears that the EMC interview is in there twice, it's actually not. It appears just once on the disc (and nothing else is missing--if it was, don't you think I would have noticed?). For some reason WMP is seeing a double marker for the EMC, and thus makes it appear as if it's titles 16 and 17. It's doing the same thing for the credit roll.
This is meaningless. It's only on there once, and if you click "Play All" or watch the DVD item by item on the menu, you will only see the EMC interview and the credit roll once.

Given the January timeframe, the above poster's question might be about the deluxe versions. Have the deluxe versions gone out as well?

Re: New Book Coming on the Card Magic of David Berglas
The deluxe version was sold out before January as I recall.
But, we are waiting for the slipcases, which are supposed to arrive at the printer on Friday. I will hopefully it on either Saturday or Monday and give the okay to put the books in them, pack everything up, and get it mailed.
