April issue arrived
Received the April issue with Jonathan Pendragon on the cover, in Boulder, CO today. Awesome issue as usual!
Quick question about iGenii. Is anybody having trouble logging in? After logging in to Alexander, I click on the iGenii icon and it takes me to another log in page asking me for user name password and coupon/token. Can't remember ever having another separate login. Regardless, I can't log in

Re: April issue arrived
Got my paper issue today. Have the same login problem as stated above. And the electronic issue is still the March one.
Why is Jonathan Pendragon holding a cane on the front cover? Is it a magical prop? An affectation? Does he have a limp after all the vigor of his career? (It was an excellent article, BTW).

Jonathan's pose with the cane is a silent tribute to a photo of the great Dante.

Jonathan's lecture at WMS was one of the highlights.

Re: April issue arrived
Thanks, Dan, the digital version of our April issue is now online and available to all subscribers around the world for free.
We have a great feature on Jonathan Pendragon by Jim Steinmeyer, two excellent tricks by Jonathan (including a handling of the Vanishing Bird Cage that's worth the price of your subscription).
All of our fine columnists also appear.
Max Maven and Jon Racherbaumer have new audio columns, and there's video of Jonathan Pendragon's recent appearance at the Magic Castle and I do a 20-minute video supplement to Genii Speaks.
No time to do more video this month because of our deadline work on "The Berglas Effects"!
Enjoy it.

FYI: The digital version is not loading for me. And I can't get the archives button to take me to previous issues. It's "stuck."

Re: April issue arrived
Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.6.15
Restarting (both the browser and Windows) didn't help. Clearing the cache didn't help either.
I just tried in Internet Explorer, and it works. It also works in Google Chrome 10.0.648.127. If I'm the only FF user who reports this, clearly I'm the one with the problem. (Seems to be a theme, now that I think about it...)
Thanks.

Jim's article with Jonathan was outstanding. I've come to admire graciousness almost as much as any other human quality.

The April issue is there (and looks great), but the label under it says March. This might be confusing some. (Using Safari.)

Re: April issue arrived
I received the April issue today and Im really looking forward to the Pendragon article. A month ago I attended a members event at the Magic Castle and had the very good fortune of dining next to Jonathan. Its the first time I spent any significant time with him and found him quite engaging and fun.
And it turns out we have a couple things in common. Besides our magnificent physiques, we both share an equal affinity for the movie The Great Race. We had a great time trading lines and testing each other. (Okay, the first one is a slight exaggeration, but the second is not.) I look forward to our next meeting, but in the meantime, Ill have this Jim Steinmeyer penned piece.

Re: April issue arrived
It took a lot of guts for Jonathan to openly discuss his OCD, and I appreciate Genii for publishing such an honest article and for not ignoring the elephant in the room.
Mental illness will perhaps never lose all of the stigma associated with it, but perhaps if more folks would be forthright on how it has affected them, others will be inspired to seek help earlier.

With all the questions about iGenii I just wondered what the latest with iPad App is? With the release of iPad 2 I'm sure the app will soon be in demand.

Re: April issue arrived
I'm happy to say that the app has been resubmitted and, with all the background issues clarified, it should be approved soon ...
... I hope.
The point, of course, is that not only will the app be free, but all the issues through the app will be free to subscribers as well.

After reading it, I couldn't help but wonder what David Alexander would have thought of it [sigh].
Jim Steinmeyer's piece was terrific and I really enjoyed the video embedded in the online edition. I think Pendragon's new blocking of "Clearly Impossible" is better now than before.

Re: April issue arrived
Dustin
in the last couple of days several people have walked up to me at the Magic Castle and taunted me with lines from "The Great Race" and now I see that it's all your fault!
The credit for the issue goes to Richard and Jim, and for many reasons. There is a much about my story that is not said because I won't talk about it in a public forum. But it has nothing to do with protecting me. I am not a violent person. Yes I argue and ever so often I argue loudly (scream), but I don't fight. The only person I tried to injure was me; that I tried to injure myself in front of Charlotte is the mistake I will always regret.
JIm and Richard have talked to me again and again when wild rumors and accusations found their way into print. They believed in a better way to tell my story which looked forward and not back. Their faith in me and Jim's incomparable writing, as well as Kari's great photos (she's a magic jewel!) show in print and picture what i wish in my heart: redemption.

Thanks for that and your other comments, erdnasephile. April arrived on Fri, and I proceeded to read cover-to-cover (for a change). It was a really classy article by and about two very classy gentlemen: Steinmeyer we knew about; the Jonathan Pendragon profiled in his article was a revelation. His persistence and determination are inspiring, a lesson to us all. Who says there are "no second acts?"
Jonathan, I wish you many bright moments on your successful path.
