Hanging out with some guy named Dave Buck the other night. He showed me some awesome stuff. I stole a tiny chunk of his coolness for the last revelation in this trick. Okay I didn't actually get current on card magic but the whole springing the cards thing as part of the trick is pretty neat to me.

I went on the wiki tool here and did a little research. This darned trick has been worked on by a lot of people. The internal structure always makes me smile a little bit inside.

Still looking for a line of jabber to put with this thing.

The description in the Green book is incorrect in terms of what Henry Christ told me. His EXACT version has never been published. The one in the Green book works, but its not his. Simon Aronson added a neat way to get into it. For my money, Bannon's version is hard to beat. Thanks for drawing our attention to this fine effect.

The Cliff Green version is very good (albeit it's not exactly what Henry Christ gave him). Karl Fulves published at least two versions that purported to be closer to Christ's original handling. Frankly at this point I don't think Christ's original will ever be published.

Richard I'm guessing one of the routines you're referring to is H.C. Aces from Epilogue, do you remember where the other one is published?
H.C Aces is closer to Christ's original than the one in the Cliff Green book is, but I'd be interested to read the other one that Fulves published.

"Henry Christ's original method, as remembered by Mr. Vernon" appears in The Vernon Chronicles Volume Two by Stephen Minch, along with an alternative opening procedure by Vernon.

The H.C. Aces in Epilogue was also apparently the original handling, but neither that nor the one in the Chronicles is Christ's original exact handling.

I can't check at the moment but I think the Elmsley version was originally in "The Cardiste".
