In a promo trailer for the new Green Hornet movie, there's a short bit where Jay Chou (Kato) is wowing Cameron Diaz with what is obviously an Ambitious Card routine.

I saw no such sequence in the movie, which I had the misfortunate to attend this evening.

True Grit: no card tricks, but a much better film :)

Not a trailer, but a press promo. The shot of Chou performing Ambitious Card is video taken during some down time on set, not a shot from the film. Very cool that he's got some card chops.

The movie really sucked. Yes, there were parts there are undeniably funny, but it was a jackass of a movie and Seth Rogan is an idiot.

I should add that the only thing I liked about the movie was Jay Chou! He was cool as hell, and in a less idiotic movie with George Clooney as the Green Hornet, they might have had something.

I saw the trailer online and decided I was NOT going to waste my money on it.
Sci-Fi channel ran the complete series this past Tuesday. It was really cool revisiting my childhood and giving my soon to be 7 year old a chance to see what kids programming used to be.

Seems to me that everyone wants to get in on the act and have their own super-hero / crime-fighter / comic book character franchise - unfortunately there ain't many left as all the popular ones have been plundered in recent years.
The Green Hornet re-make (or 're-boot' as they seem to call 'em these days) always seemed to me to have 'turkey' written all over it - particularly with Seth Rogan in the lead role.
It will be interesting to see if the forthcoming Thor and Captain America movies will share the same fate.
Cheers
Andrew

Re: Jay Chou, card guy?
Another one of the Yahoo behind the scenes on-set promos has a few seconds of Chou squatting down and doing what looks like Shadow Coins on the vinyl seat of a desk chair. Looks like in addition to a musician and actor, he's a magician.
And I'm gonna wait for the movie to hit Netflix, since I was certain Rogen was going to ruin it, and it sounds like I was right.
(Loved the original Green Hornet marathon, though...)

And [censored] wins yet again, with The Green Hornet taking in 34 million bucks to top the box office this weekend. No accounting for bad taste.

It's revenue will probably drop quickly. Like others here, I was really looking forward to this until I saw the previews. It was painful to see what they produced compared to what it could have been.

Re: Jay Chou, card guy?
Okay, I went back and found it: Chou is doing kind of a Chink-A-Chink move on the seat of a director's chair on the set. It's at 2:45 on the #13 video in the list; "The Cast Talks To Yahoo." (Christoph Waltz is saying how Chou "is like the most amazing magician you've ever seen")
