I was wondering if there are any Dog Surgeons on this forum. If so I really need to talk to you. My Bichon is 11 yrs old and is losing the use of his back legs. We had an ex ray and it shows that he has damage to his spine around the middle of his back. He is on pain meds and steroids and I was told that surgery may help. If any one could help me with some information I would really appreciate it.
My email is
intmiracle@deandill.com
I would love to talk to someone that will give me so honest info.
Thanks so much,
Dean Dill

I forwarded this on to my mother who is a Veterinary Surgeon on horses and small animals. Maybe she'll have some extra info that might help! Best of luck!

I sent this to one of my former banjo students who is an ace veterinarian, too.

Check with Dr. Mike Rubinstein one of the NY coin guys.
Re: Dean Dill has a serious question.
I gave him some information gleaned from 8 years working in that field and referred him to some advanced practitioners and diagnosticians.

Isn't the diversity of backgrounds among all of those sharing this common interest amazing!?

Dodd, one of the most interesting anecdotes on your many podcasts was your Gunther Gebel Williams encounter, thanks to your mom.

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten that! Thanks!
Well.. I hadn't forgotten the story, but I had forgotten that I had mentioned it on the show and didn't think of it in this context. She's an amazing lady.

Just curious, what field does Dr. Rubinstein hold his PhD in?

Not sure if you're kidding or just barking up the wrong tree, but I believe Michael Rubenstein, DVM, is a veterinarian in New York.

Correct: he is a veterinarian.

I really had no idea. Thanks for the information. I guess it does make sense in light of some of the responses.
