Do Pages Come off the Staples in Your Genii?

Folks, my printer has assured me that they have solved the problem with the center pages sometimes popping off the staples in Genii.
What I would like to hear from all of you is ...
has anyone had the center pages pop out of the staples with the May or June issues of Genii?

I can't recall the last time that has happened to me, and I am quite brutal to the magazine (folding it back so it's only half size in my hands, etc.). It seems to me that Genii is pretty darn tough these days.

I'm sorry to say that the center pages came off the staples in my May 2004 (Derek Dingle) issue (ironically, this is the first time it has ever happened).

I don't have the June issue yet, but it didn't happen to my May issue, nor any issue before that.

Perhaps I am just too gentle with the magazine.

It happened to me with the Jason Latimer issue, that's the only one I recall.
Was probably just a coincidence though.

Does anyone have a tip for fixing these pages?

I opened up the staples in the middle with a knife.
Then I placed the loose page over the two staples 'legs' and closed them again. Finally, I put a small piece of scotch tape over the staples, both on the inside and the 'outside' of the middlepage.

This worked for me, don't know if it's the best way though.

Have not had this issue with any of the Kaufman produced issues of Genii that I own (about 20-30 issues).

In the 51 years that I have been subscribing to GENII, I have never had any pages to come loose and come out. Thanks for a great magazine!

I too had the center page come out (May issue). Of course I do fold the magazine open back on itself so I wasn't really surpised. Minor inconvenience, in my opinion, and the content certainly makes up for it. Keep up the great work!

The only time it ever happened to me was with the Joseph Prieto-Paul Harris-Jim Steinmeyer issue.

No problems with those issues.

I'm wondering if you're ever going to print the magazine so the issue date is on the spine. That makes it so much easier to find a specific issue when they're all on a shelf.

Genii would have to perfect bound (like MAGIC) for that to happen. I seem to recall RK saying that Genii would continue being stapled.

No way to print the date so it can be seen on the spine unless, as Dustin says, it's perfect bound.
I well know the feeling of having to "walk" across the spines of dozens of issues to find the one I want.
But, I really dislike perfect binding.

Like others, I often fold the magazine back and I've had no problem at all.

No problem with the staples, but the post office manages to mangle the cover even thru the plastic bag. (???)
