It's Magic Time on America's Got Talent Again

Postby Magic Newswire » June 16th, 2010, 9:00 pm

Assuming that we will see several magicians on this season of America's Got Talent. I thought that I should start a thread for that conversation. Fortunately, I can start it off on a positive note with this clip from Michael Grasso: http://bit.ly/AGTGRASSO

Ah...more grist for David's publicity machine in that he can now advertise "As seen on America's Got Talent."

Is there no end to this man's good fortune?

Season 5 Episode 3 also brings us a very nicely staged black art group, "Fighting Gravity": http://bit.ly/AGTGRASSO

I thought an ironic comment would be easily recognized on this Forum. Apparently not.

I think that it would have been if you had only said "Is there no end to this man's good fortune?" The previous live countered it. Then again, that is just my opinion. As it was, I did find it to be droll.

This week's episode opened with 19 year old magician and waiter Frankie Elliston who actually swallowed string and pulled it from his stomach. "One of the most revolting and compelling things that he has ever seen," says Piers. Yes.. he made it through to Vegas with the support of only Howie & Piers. He was immediately followed by Murray Sawchuck in a very short illusion segment. Murray also heads off to Vegas. Unless I miss my count, that makes four magicians that have made it through the first round.

The second segment was kicked off in Portland by Magique Bizarre who presented most of a mask changing act before he stepped off the end of the stage. Piers failed to notice that his "face changed 5 times in 90 seconds."

See what I force myself to do for you people! ;-)

Medical Evacuation Pilot William Scott Anderson returned from serving in Afghanistan to perform an AGT themed Origami to wrap up the second episode.

From what I have since gathered, this was Mike Stroud from San Francisco.

Magic Mike Stroud is an excellent magician. He was a clean cut corporate guy and has gotten more theatrical over the years but he knows what he is doing and it is too bad he fell. I did think it was a great vanish until I realized he went off the stage.
