Yes, Paul;
It looks like Cynthia is after us both.
I'm hurt that she seems to be two-timing me already, this early in our relationship. Maybe we sshould share her?

I may be wrong, but I believe that "Cynthia" could be an anagram of "Mark Lewis."

Maybe it would be nice to have someone with which we can discuss the merits of the diagonal palm steal in a mature and safe environment.

Just saying...

And I thought it was my manly reputation that had proceeded me.. ah well....

A few moments with Google and we find that "Cynthia" is almost certainly a chap sitting in an Internet Cafe in Nigeria working what is known as a "419" scam.

Do not bite...do not write back...it is a hustle. There are several websites devoted to scamming the scammers. Some are extremely funny. Just Google "419 scam" and have a laugh at some of their messages.

Really? I found her advocacy of the double undercut over a well timed pass to be simplistic and a bit old fashioned to be honest.

Private Message from "Cynthia" ............

Postby mehtas » June 10th, 2010, 4:09 am

I see many other members received private message from this "Cynthia" person.

Doing some research I just found out who this person is.

You'll never guess in a million years.

http://timnovate.wordpress.com/2010/05/ ... made-cell/

We need to get the word around that "Cynthia" has evolved and goes around magic forums looking for company :)

For a few laughs about "Cynthia" and her ilk you might visit http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/ This guy's hobby is scamming the scammers and then posting his adventures.

There are several other sites like this on the web. Just Google "Nigerian 419."

No, all of you did not get them, nor could all of you have received them.

We have many thousands of members, and only 100 to 200 people got them before we patched the loophole.

Due to the fact that I have, indeed, found my present wife on the internet, I must take umbrage to the TOTAL negativity to such happenings. I see and understand the funniness of the prospect as one of my nieces told us it was, "sick and wrong". Just know that the prospect has been gaining popularity steadily.

I know at least four people who met their spouse on the interwebs. And possibly more who haven't told me. There's no shame in it.

Bryan,

What does your story have to do with a targeted spamming intrusion of a private user list on the net? Did you meet your wife as a random recipient of an offer of her favors as long as you are a loving person? If so, then I see the connection. If not, what is the connection? Why post in this thread?

John
