WTB: Martin Nash Sleightly Second

Postby ZachLambert529 » April 6th, 2010, 10:24 pm

I am looking for Martin Nash's second book in the trilogy of comb bound books.

If anyone is willing to trade or sell me their copy, I would be greatful for it.

Thank you!!

You may get better luck if you use the right title for the book.

The second book in the series is named "Any Second Now".

Zach: Have you tried contacting Morrisey's? I had an email from them a little over a year or so that they had plans to reprint the Nash books. I'd be curious to know if they still plan on doing so.

Mickey Hades owns the trilogy and I emailed him last month about his reprinting. To date - no reply.

About 10 years ago, Brian(?) Hades said they were reprinting the series, but were going with drawings as the photos didn't scan well.

I have not tried contacting since I know that I will have no luck. I know that he has the rights, with intentions to reprint (not really), so I am just going for the originals. =)

Emailed Hades several times over the years and never had a single reply.

It's a real shame that these are not going to be incorporated into one hardback volume. It obviously would have been a fitting legacy.

I wish that the book market were more favorable so that they could do as Magic Inc is doing with the Marlo stuff and produce these works in the format they deserve. Either that or maybe another publisher could purchase the rights? (Richard would probably say: "Keep dreamin'" :) )

There might be a decent-size market for a reprint of the Martin Nash books. I really don't know why the Hades family hasn't taken advantage of that.

You can OCR the original books and rescan the photos (or even have someone do drawings from them) in six months, tops. If you just want to reprint, I could have the combined book out in two months. But it's not my project.

@ Richard, great idea, but as stated, I suppose it's up to Mickey Hades.

Using Adobe Photoshop 2.0, I scanned and cleaned a pic from the 1st volume. It looks better than the original.

It can never look better than the original because you are de-screening a screened photograph. You may be able to lighten it, but it will never be as sharp.
