Nintendo & Magic (Tenyo & Blackstone, Jr)

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Nintendo & Magic (Tenyo & Blackstone, Jr)

Postby mai-ling » February 26th, 2010, 8:33 pm

I didn't take the time to search if someone
had already posted this or not.
(sorry if it has already).

...ANYWHO...

Two things of note that I recently noticed.

1. During a visit at our local gamestop my husband
and I came across a Nintendo DS game called
"Master of Illusions" It came with game but also a
deck of Nintendo cards.

It teaches you some magic on the DS system and using
a deck of cards.

There are three options. Training, magic show and solo magic.
You earn points and unlock new effects to learn.

Its fun I haven't used it lately (i've been fooling around
with a Korg synth for the DS)

Its Only $29.99

It came out about two years and Tenyo is behind it.

2. My husband loves Super Mario and I hadn't played Mario for
so long until the new game came out for both the Wii and
the DS system. BTW, They are very different from each other.

We came across "The Super Mario Brothers Super Show" on netflix
and added it. Hadn't ever watched it yet. Appearantly
its a live action show.

Earlier this evening I was talking to my husband about
Harry Blackstone, Jr. I made a mention that Sandy Marshall
made a comment at the wedding that Eric has some resembelence
to Uncle Harry with his goatee/beard.

So I looked a photo of him to show him. While doing so
I read that Uncle Harry was Count Koopula on the show
and it was entitled "magician."

We checked it out and I showed my dad too...its cute.

Anywho, I've been wanting to write about Gaming and magic
for a while.
Just in case it hadn't been a subject that has been touched
on here and let y'all know as well.

As Luigi learned from Uncle Harry these magic words
"Wooshy wooshy wooshy woosh woosh woosh"

The Masters of Illusion is GREAT. I got it when it came out.

I've never done any of it for anyone, because the idea of doing a trick with a DS seems odd to me.

However the Doodle app for the iPhone is the best 'Digital Magic' because it just looks like a real app. In fact, I did it last week and someone wanted to know what the drawing app was called, they wanted it and believed it was a real app.
