The February Issue of Genii is Coming Your Way!

Postby Richard Kaufman » January 15th, 2010, 10:17 pm

Folks, the February issue of Genii, with Michael Finney on the cover, is on its way to you and some of you should start to see it arrive in your mailboxes early next week.

In addition to our cover story on one of the funniest guys around, profiled by Dustin Stinett, we have have Steve Bryant's "Zombieland," about the midnight spook shows which IBM President Jack White used to throw, and a preview of Danny Orleans new magic book for the public, "MagicScratchers."

There are new columns from Tom Stone, Paul Osborne, Jon Racherbaumer and the premier of David Britland's "Cardopolis" column in Magicana (which also presents some excellent tricks described for you by David Acer).

To wrap it up we have David Britland, David Regal, and Joe M. Turner reviewing books, tricks, and videos (respectively).

Another great issue, and another great reason to subscribe if you don't already--just click on the link in my signature and get yourself a free 32-page Jinx by Harry Anderson and Jon Racherbaumer if you're a new subscriber (existing subscribers already received this in their October 2009 issues).

Hey Richard,

That is great news about the David Britland CARDOPOLIS column! He is a brilliant card creator and it will be great to see more of his work. I suspect many more people are about to discover that not only is David a wonderful writer but he is also a wonderful creator.

Great story on Michael Finney. You could say he's experieced alot and done alot.

Also I've had Britlands Cardopolis blog saved at favorites for over a year and read all his postings. Some good stuff there. Eventually Im going back thru it all to take notes and to learn some of the routines he's put up.

That's very good of you but it's hard to believe you're happy about it. I imagine poor postal service has cost you a lot of money over the years.

Finally appeared in Seattle today (with opened plastic cover and smudged address - the PO really did a job on this one). Fortunately, the mailman did not damage the magazine after he was finished reading it. Now it is my turn.

My plastic cover was also opened but I didn't worry.

I don't think any of the workers at my post office can read!
Pick a card....Any card....NO not THAT card..THIS one!

Mine arrived on Saturday and was intact other than appearing to have been stuck to Michael Finney's forehead for a few minutes.

It has arrived in SoCal and it looks great! (I hadn't seen the shot selected for the cover until then.)

Im pleased folks are enjoying the piece on Michael Finney. It was a lot of fun to work on. He and his wife Lori are great to work with. Even though he is a very busy guy, he gave us unbelievable access. My thanks go out to them as well as to Kari Hendler and the other photographers who contributed to the piece. And, of course, to the Chief Genii from whom I learn something new every time I put words onto a blank white screen.

This issue was good reading. Can't wait for next months issue.

It had some easy to do miracles in magicana. I like the cell phone mentalism effect.

On the slant was good read on one of Ricky Jay's routine. Got you thinking on how to improve your magic.

The Osborn Illusion was great. This is the first Illusion I'm serioulsy considering building, just in case I need to do a stage routine.

Great reviews. I always like Regal's reviews.

Of course Lodestone is always good.

This month was a good one Genii staff. Keep up the good work.
