Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
Ok, i know it's easier to just buy an other deck but what about my gaffs and gimmick cards paid usually 10 times price of a deck ?
Is there any solution to clean them and reflat them when they begin to getting soft, dirty and warppy ?

Re: Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
When oil and dirt gets into the sides of USPC cards... not much to do. The snap comes from the fibers of the paper layers - again not much to do when those go. One can carefully wipe and refinish cards to clean off some oils.
But flat vs warpy... there are card cases advertised which press cards flat.

Try rubber cement thinning fluid for dirt. It doesn't affect the card and wipes off instantly. Also, don't put fanning powder on your cards (zinc sterate) it attracts dirt. Use powdered teflon sold by piano tuning companies.
For warped cards this sometimes works: faro shuffle half the deck face up into the other half face down. Place in a freezer overnight.

I think you want to put the deck into a press or at least a cardcase before putting it in the freezer. Also don't leave a can of Coke in the freezer or it will burst, ruining your cards.

If you do step into the freezer with the deck, please be sure to say "Hi" to Walt Disney.

Re: Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
i ll add a little advice for anyone trying the freezer thing as me, check the humidity level of your freezer, you may want to put your deck in a ziplock bag or wrapped in cellophane if you don't want your cards to soak all the humidity ;)
Re: Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
Doing the half up half down Zarrow thing, with some extra cards totaling around 60 cards, placed in its card case should fix the warped cards in 2 or 3 days. You shouldnt have to Zarrow mix the cards any more so long as you keep the extra cards.
I keep a duplicate card along with 2 jokers, an advertisement card and an extra card or two in opposite colors for a color changing deck, red hot mama and other applicable effects.

2 or 3 days, u mean in the freezer or just in their cases in normal condition ?
Re: Tips on cleaning and reflating cards
Jeremie, in it's case with no freezing. Also meant Farro not Zarrow btw.
