Has anyone tried Delicious Library 2 (for Mac) or MediaMan (for PC)
to catalog a magic book collection?
The main problem I see is that most magic books have no UPC's so the scanning feature won't work. However, they do allow manual input of the ISBN. This would work for modern works, but the older stuff would have to manually input.
Are there any other software solutions people have found effective?
While we are on the subject--how do you have your library organized? I have mine arranged alphabetical by author, but it's effectiveness largely relies on my memory for who the author (as opposed to the subject of the tome) is. I tried grouping by subject, but some books defy easy categorization.

Re: Library cataloging software
Hi!
I've been using for years (about 8 or 9), BookCAT (http://www.fnprg.com) to organize my library and it's very good. If you search for BookCat on this forum, you'll see a number of posts about it.
My library is organized by subject (card magic, mentalism, history, close-up, illusions, etc...) and, in every category, by size! :)
Hope this helps, all the best!

Thanks, Marco--I'll check it out. It sure would be cool though if future magic books would have IBSN bar codes (make things a lot faster). I wonder how much that adds to the cost of a book.

Re: Library cataloging software
I've heard it costs a publisher about $250 - $300 for about 10 ISBN numbers.

125 per number. each format of a title would need it's own #... hardcover softcover etc.
