Turns out Copperfield was a bit too expensive...
Michael Jackson has dropped David Copperfield in favor of Criss Angel to join him at London's O2 arena for his farewell shows. Copperfield was asking for $1 million per show. Jackson's scheduled for 50 nights.
A source said: "Michael wants to use lots of illusions to ensure his shows are as explosive and entertaining as possible. He was so excited about working with David but fell out with him over the money he wanted. But Criss is a superb entertainer and Michael's delighted to have him on board - not least because he costs less."
Doctors are currently worried that Michael's health isn't up to what it should be for the shows.
A source said: "There are concerns Michael is too frail. He has been ordered to eat more but he refuses to and eats like a bird."
The concert promoter insists Michael is very fit.

Lack of quantity over total quality.
Jackson is so far in the debt hole, he has to pinch every penny. And if I were a fan of the freak, I would be concerned about the lack of entertainment value I would receive from the overpriced tickets.

Re: Michael Jackson trades David Copperfield for Criss Angel
We can infer several things from this article.
David Copperfield did not want this job; otherwise the price would have been lower than $50 million for 50 shows.
This gives Angel a face-saving reason to leave the Luxor and the disaster he created.
Apparently no one in Michael Jacksons company has read the reviews of Angels work.
Then again, working for Jackson requires they ignore a lot of reality.

I will be surprised if Jackson completes 5 shows never mind 50.
But then again, I wonder what percentage of the show he will actually participate in - as I'm sure the clever use of film, doubles and 'illusion' will actualy 'water down' his actual nightly involvement.

The whole thing is PR crap. Both Copperfields and Angels people have confirmed this. Neither has or is talking to Jackson about participating. Its all Jacksons spin.
