Sherwood Silver Engraved Cups

Postby John M. Dale » December 22nd, 2008, 4:25 pm

I've been bugging Brett Sherwood off and on since last June when I put off ordering a set of his Silver Engraved Cups for a week and he sold out. He has emailed me and told me that he is collecting names to make another run of these fantastic cups.

Here is what he posted at the Magic Cafe:

If you are serious about the Engraved All Silver - I'm taking names now! Yes, there might just be a new run, but it all depends on the quantity of people that want them, so please spread the news.
I mentioned my last run over a year ago (I think?) and since I've had many ask for the Engraved ALL Silver, so if you or one of your friends wants a set email me. I must state for the record that I will only take orders with a $1000 deposit. I know that is steep and there will be a wait, BUT the last time I didn't take deposits and I was stiffed by several magicians, actually about 20% never answered my emails or followed through, so because of these magicians I must now ask for the heavy deposit, BUT on the bright side, in about two months you will own a set of numbered - Limited Edition MINT Engraved ALL Silver cups! You will also have about two months to save up the remaining $650 which will be due once the cups are received from my spinner/engraver. Please spread the news, because this will only happen if enough magicians want this style cup.
If you do not know me or my business please visit my website (www.SherwoodMagic.com) and read all my testimonials so you can rest assured that I will give you the very best service possible!
Kind Regards,
Brett Sherwood

Reason: Cause the last thing I want to do is piss Brett off by misspelling his name. I've been waiting 1/2 a year already.

These cups are wonderful. I have a silver set, and a silver & gold set. Both with matching chop cups. My favorite is the silver. If you can get a set, you will never want to part with them.

Bump

While I'm still encouraging anyone who's interested in Brett's silver engraved cups to contact him to get on the notification list, during a recent email discussion he told me that, based on the responses so far, he doesn't expect to be able to make a new run this year. (Given the current economics, this doesn't surprise me.)
So, in light of this situation, I'd like to put out a feeler to see if anyone out there has a set of which they'd by will to part. I'd also be willing to entertain purchasing a set of Brett's gold/silver or gold engraved cups (which are in stock) and working out a trade arrangement if someone was interested in "upgrading" instead of just selling their silver set.
If any of you are interested, please PM or email me at hardeen@comcast.net.

John,

One option may be to just buy and keep the gold/silver cups. I have 2 of Brett's sets. The silver and the gold/silver. The gold/silver is actually pretty nice. Very much like the plane silver with a bit of accent.

Randy,

Thanx for the suggestion but my heart is set on the silver engraved cups.

However, the GREAT news is that someone else answered my feeler & I should have my set within a week or so!!!!

John,

Glad you are going to get the ones you want. Actually, my first set, and favorite set, are the silver ones. So I understand your preference for these. That being said, I wish I had gotten the gold ones as well before the prices went so high.

I'd like to give a public shout out to Rudy Sanchez, who sold me the set of Engraved Silver Sherwood cups that I received today. They are everything and more than I had dreamed.

Thanx again Rudy!!
