I'll go over and and see if he's made any progress.

If you guys read his posts here and on the Cafe, you'll quickly see that Stepanov loves magic history. The problem is his location. I can now appreciate it how easy it easy for me to get the books I want most of the time with just a phone call.

I don't know about Larry, but I wouldn't sell a copy for $250 when it's worth almost $1000. Plus postage to Russia, AND the potential problems with customs in Russia, and so on. I wish Stepanov the best of luck in obtaining a set of these books, but it seems like it's going to be a difficult process.

There is currently a copy on eBay that started at $50 yesterday and is already past $250 with five days left to go. It's selling price should be a good indication of current value. Here's a link:

The last set I bought was from here, within the last year or less. I think I paid $200 or $225 from a guy in California. If you're reading this CA guy, please chime in.

Maybe it's me, but this is easily available at $450 or less on the net. I never saw one sell for a $1,000.

Stepanov,

Have you seen this set? Seems to be much more reasonable in price.

Good Day! I am looking to buy a AAA penlight igniter that can light flashpaper. I purchased one a few years ago, but I forget where I bought it. The device looks exactly like a penlight flashlight and uses 2 AAA batteries and when you push the button at the top there is a little element at the bottom that glows red. It is not a glow plug however, but a little heating element consisting of two spring like toaster elements. Any help would be appreciated!

$456 from the guy on Ebay seems steep.

One sold in April for 150 pounds and I bought a set on the Forum for $225 within the last few months.

I thought theese were tough times?

Given Kevin's recent purchase of $225 on the Forum, I'd wait for a bit.

KC,
If you consider the $456.00 set high, what are your thoughts on this set?

This one make the set on your link look like a bargain.

Even though the pictures were a bit overwhelming, you certainly can see what you are getting and the seller isn't using pix swiped of Karr's website

I haven't seen that much detail since the last adult flick watched on the big screen of a theater in Chicago! :D
It's not about the magic; it's about the daily box office gross.

Unfortunately, like honest man, I should agree that trading with Russia is bad idea. And I always say this for all foreigners who ask my opinion. :-)

Really amazing that week ago I can not find any suggestions on e-bay and now I can see more than one...
