Steve Wyrick's looking for a new Grandma

Postby Richard Hatch » February 9th, 2009, 1:08 am

I found this audition interesting:
http://www.exploretalent.com/display_ca ... 76026b3cf7

""Steve Wyrick Real Magic" is an ongoing production show located in the Steve Wyrick Theatre in Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood - the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. We have shows nightly (dark Fridays). The show embodies the exploration of magic through Steve's life and ends with the appearance of his grandmother on stage. This is the emotional core of the show. The role is physical acting (must crouch down for about 5 minutes then stand up very quickly) and there are no lines. You will pantomine a re-enactment of a scene from Steve's childhood as a part of the act. "Grandma" is onstage approximately 10 minutes. We pay $40 per show. Please forward your photo and contact information to be considered. We want to fill this role as quickly as possible."
Wonder what happened to his last Grandma?

That's pretty unbelievable. The show must really be doing badly, or else they're just completely cheap.

Does anything else really need to be said? $40 to squat in a box for 10 minutes? I do that every day and nobody is paying me! :)

Right you are!
Sooner or later we'll all be spending eternity in a box and won't receive a dime for it. :)
It's not about the magic; it's about the daily box office gross.

I heard he had to sell his bar operation to the Hawaiian Marketplace people in order to stay afloat.

Iceberg, dead ahead!

I wont watch the Grandma video because Im sure it will just be another one of his slight re-works of someone elses material. I do not think that I have ever seen this guy do anything original. Even the name of his show, Real Magic, is unoriginal: Kalin and Jinger have been using it for years!
