To Pepka, Magic Randy, Frank Starsinic, Levity and Bob Walder,
Thank you all for the kind remarks and pointing out to those that may not know my customer relations reputation of always wanting ALL my buyers to be 100% happy. It is a very difficult challenge at times, but it is also one of the MOST fulfilling experiences I get in life. My cup business is only a very small side business and I do it primarily to make people happy more than the obvious small money profit I make through it.

However I obviously do NOT like people who are unfair and attempt to take advantage of others for ones self gain. There are ethics involved in all businesses and it should be especially respected within the small magic fraternity. If something is not yours do NOT take it! Simple.

Thanks again for your support.

I've been lucky to have acquired several of Brett's sets of cups. I'll echo what others have said, both with regard to the supreme quality of his products and unmatched customer service. Always a pleasure to deal with.

Jim Riser's cups are also of the highest quality. I have several sets of his cups and they are all flawless in terms of production quality as well as being a dream to handle. Jim is also another one of those vendors who provides the highest standard of customer service.

I have given up any hope of contact with RNT2. I contacted Discover to find out what was going on my dispute. They told me that RNT2 had requested I return the merchadise (at my cost) through Paypal. I never received any notice from Paypal or RNT2. I guess it was too much trouble to email me a note directly from RNT2.

I have since found out that the set of Mandarian Transformations I bought was probably a set of seconds. They were certainly not first quality. I suspect the 12" rings were the same.

I sold it a great guy who will work it. It was not a collector's piece but certainly a working piece. I mentioned I had sold this on the MC and no thanks to RNT2. The post was immediately deleted. I guess that site no longer wants people to know that companies are not living up to their billing.

I for one am glad that RNT2 is out of business. Magic does not need this kind of business ethics.

No, the real reason is that the MC, RNT2 AND Perfect Circle (the piston ring manufacturer) are involved in a worldwide conspiracy to control all things 360

Your experience is quite common on that forum as any negative postings about certain outfits and/or certain individuals are immediately sent to perdition in the EOCPFH (Enemies Of Cafe Privileged Few Hell) by their revisionist software, Cafespeak, which is under the direct control of Truth in Content Moderator, Winston Smith.

Sorry that your transaction went sour.

Few people do, KC.
If the government would ever release the files that they have secreted for decades in Area-51 about every single U.S. manufacturer of wooden bung holes for hobby horses being involved in this same conspiracy, the country would rebel overnight after being made aware of this insidious octopus!

:D :D Go into the men's room of a local service station and slip four bits into that machine on the wall that vends "Touch 'O' Plank" gentleman's appliances and twist the knob.

If no machine is present simply ask the attendant, Cletus, where he keeps the you-know-whats (Usually in an empty Pennzoil can beneath the counter.
No more splinters :)

But watch out for Wood Peckers. [/b]

My best props from RNT were from the original and they are very nice dove pans.

I hate to see suppliers go. Rarely are they replaced by something better. But magic is much like the sign marketing majors used to joke about being over the door at Revlon: "We don't sell cosmetics; We sell Hope!"

Magicians must believe if anyone is.

Hi Frank
You are very welcome! I wish you a lifetime of enjoyment with your new Brett Sherwood Smooth Copper Cups.
Thank you for avoiding inferior and completely unauthorized imitations offered by rnt2. Thanks also for helping to keep the magic art GREAT by advancing it through investing with magic originals and not helping others who attempt to exploit invention and our wonderful art for mere profit.
Kind Regards,
Brett Sherwood

By the way, I just got my RNT2 cups (no Brett, not the Princess cups) They too are gorgeous. I was willing to risk a long wait as I knew going in that the run had not been completed. I think it was worth the wait.

I also ordered a set of their 12" rings, which I sent back owing to poor workmanship. If not replaced promptly I will open a dispute on these.

Just wanted to follow up. I was issued a refund for the rings, and most of what I ordered arrived yesterday, along with a bonus. I'm happy with the quality of all the manufactured items.

I don't think their order tracking system is/was very efficient.

Has anyone successfully received a set of the new copper Paul Fox replicas from Rings and Things? My cups are a JES Squatty set masquerading as PF cups. Has this happened to anyone else? I suspect that RNT2 is unloading his batch of unsold JES cups...

You are absolutely correct, Mr. Hughes.
On the Cafe, express dissent against certain personages and organizations is about as welcome as an Al-Qaeda rally on West 47th Street in N.Y.C.

Hello all,
You may know of my spat with jake at cupscon.com. Personally I feel Jake has stiffed quite a few people INCLUDING ME. I had written proof and promises that once I started making the gazzo cup and other cups again he would stop. To cut to the chase . They did not and Jake and I got into a slagging match. The statments from jake saying I owned the Gazzo cup rights and that he would stop making them were pulled from the magic cafe site. I will no longer post on mc. I see he has pissed off a few other makers ripping them off also.

I have seen your altercation with these "people" on cupscon.com.

I thought it especially interesting that the administrator of that site locked all discussions tighter than a crab's a$$ (and that is watertight) whose poster's had the audacity to write any thing negative about them.

Dr. Goebbels could have done no better at sequestering bad press.
Both the aforementioned site and the MC should be ashamed of themselves for their unabashed support of these "people."

They must be keeping up with their banner ad bills as this apologist treatment is as mercenary an activity that I have run across lately in magic.

Every person is said to have his price.
Lord God, to swap your integrity for banner ads and an occasional free something or other is scraping near the bottom of the barrel and to do it under the pretense of some type of "friendship" is actually the third subbasement beneath the bottom of that same character and principle barrel.

Shame on these "people" and shame on their ring of loquacious followers who cast away their characters for nothing when defending them.

These "people" have a few of my friends hooked to the tune of $100K+ and they will certainly have to sell a hell of a lot of change purses and brass wand tips to make this good.

The folk at RNT2 apparently are not acquainted with terms such as truth, honesty, integrity, ethics. They do seem to know terms like steal, lie, distort.

I can live with the thefts and keep coming up with new items but when they try to twist things around with lies claiming the originator was the thief, I lose all patience. The lies about me and my products coming off of Jake's keyboard are too numerous to describe here. The daughter seems to be a chip off of the old block. The many uninformed sheep on the mc continue to support this scurge on the magic community and any posts trying to defend yourself against their "spin" are deleted. The only defense against the accusations and lies has been to tell things as they are on your own web site. I consider the staff at the mc as bad as the RNT2 folk. No matter what the truth is, the mc gang apparently do not want to hear it let alone believe it. It's as though someone is receiving bribes. I wonder how many cup sets Steve has.

The cupscon leader is another prize. He openly stated on the mc that he would never give me a dime (because of what I had reported about Jake on my web site) yet privately offered to pay my expenses to Texas for his cup convention. This character will do anything to try to skim a buck from someone (he needed cup makers for his convention). No ethics at cupscon either.

It is truly a sad day for magic when the magic community stoops so low that they support such a business. As Richard indicated in a post above, the sooner they vanish the better. It really is time for the magic community to consider some self reflection. And people ask me why I do not go to magic conventions! I have no desire to see or meet the mc and cupscon sheep. 'tis a sad state of affairs.

Jim

But as Mr Riser says I can always design new things as I trained as a sculptor. I make things because I love making things. To put the record straight I never remembered giving Jake permission in the first place. He is a complete bastard in my view.
