This is the trick, "Proteus", from the excellent book, "By Forces Unseen; The Innovative Card Magic of Ernest Earick" written by Stephen Minch. Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Matt,

The mechanics of the trick looked very good. The change was startling. The problems were minor. You had some hesitation displaying the selected card. I maybe mistaken, but it looked as if you brought your hands close to your body for the removal of the second card. If that's not true ignore me. But if it is true, it signals the viewer that a move is coming. Keep your hands out away from your body.

Do you have a presentation with this yet, or were you just trying to get some feedback on the mechanics of the moves?

Ray

Ray,

In the video, I did bring my hands toward my body. However, it wasn't intentional. In real life, I would've shifted the way I'm standing. In the video, I couldn't do that because I was sitting down. To make up for that, I tried moving my elbows which in turn moved the cards towards my body. Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.

As for presentation, yes I do have one. It's slightly different from the one in the book but the idea is generally the same. I was mainly hoping for feedback on the moves. Also, I definitely could've spoken, but I am currently obsessed with that song right now and might be singing a solo of it in the 8th grade concert. I can't stop thinking about the song, it's stuck in my head.

BTW: I love Deep Thought.

I watch that video a lot. I watch it when I want to see how something is supposed to look.
