Steranko on Comics

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Steranko on Comics

Postby Craig Matsuoka » June 23rd, 2003, 10:28 pm

Jim Steranko was on The History Channel today as part of the "Superheroes Unmasked" documentary.

He gave a VERY short commentary of his run-ins with the almighty scalpel of the "comic book code". No magic, but it was sort of neat to see him on tv as I've only seen young pictures of him up till now.

The years have been very kind to him. He's still a very good looking gentleman. Nice voice too.

Mark Evanier's WEB SITE tells us that the show will be repeated on Saturday twice and Sunday once -- either as an episode of History's Mysteries or as Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked.

Thanks for the tip on the second airing Bill. After spending 10 years drawing comics, I look forward to seeing this. Steranko is clearly one of the legends of comics and he looks so good because he loves his work. :)

Hey, are you the Wolf who used to draw Spawn?

If so, my hubby loved it.

Hey Rosie,
Thanks for the kind words regarding my magic effects. My Wacky Wolf line is kicking butt and I am a happy man. It was about time someone gave the kids and magicians what they needed so I stepped up to the plate :)
Yes, I am the same Chance Wolf who inked Spawn right along side with Todd McFarlane himself. I worked side by side with him for 2 years in his Pheonix office. A GREAT learning experience. I have actually applied his business philosophy to the Magic World and it is paying off. ( Thanks Toddy )Keep your eyes open for some INCREDIBLE new effects this year!
Take care,
Chance Wolf

Hey Wolfie,
Are you related to Marvin Wolfman? He's my cousin, though I've never met him.
